BOTP: Knicks' primary hope is for Melo to open up trade list beyond HOU and CLE

Has there been any relevant, new info since last night on this Melo trade? I'd appreciate if someone could tell me about any updates.

Melo's camp leaked that they would like to be traded no matter whose running the show.

 

Jason Brad Dick or however you spell his name on 790 says it just a matter of time. Sounds like a prediction tho

 

He's not useless, he's just worth about $7M instead of $10M if we are basing it only on his production. He got his contract due to his potential. Problem is, instead of getting closer to his potential, he actually regressed last season.

 

Honestly if his contract is Not bad, there won't be so much b*tching about his contract on here.

It has everything to do with rynos poor contract. Are you saying if Morey offered better assets like Capella and Gorden the Knicks won't take them? Everyone wants to "win" a trade. Ryno's bad contract + 1 pick for Melo is highway robbery.

 

I hope Melo trolls them and says he expanded his list to include the Astros and Texans

 

If it was a straight up trade, they would have gotten 6M "TPE", so no... not highway robbery. Also, of course they want Capela or Gordon. Those are not "better" assets. Those are GREAT assets.

Do you not understand what a higher salary cap increase means? It would mean Anderson's contract would be much better and therefore easier to unload. That also means we could easily get in on the "big fish".

We would most likely get some players in return, probably around $5-10M. That goes along with the projected cap increase and renouncing rights to certain players.

 

I initially interpreted it as u wish we could absorb his contract even tho we're not able to because of the hard cap.
