He's making it sound like melo is not sure because the knicks are not sure, but if you just read what he says without the fluff he is saying melo wants out.

Top and bottom, he is making it sound like the knicks are confused and confusing Carmelo

The part about melo doesn't know if he's going or staying.

At first I thought this. But if reports are true that he's looking for houses in Houston, and is pushing to come here, then my gut says he chooses us over Cleveland (in a buy out). Especially given the fact that we have come this far to get him here. The Rockets have went over & beyond to trade for Carmelo. Melo has to feel appreciated that a team wants him as bad as we do

This was posted in that other thread (Knicks pause whatever) but has largely gone unnoticed for some reason.

Melo: Look, man, I really wanted to stay. You were the one who convinced me that going to Houston was what I really wanted. You don't really have to convince me to stay with a meeting. I had to be convinced to leave. Remember? You want me? You had me at hello. Kissy. Kissy.

Exactly. The Knicks spent ALL of last season trying to run Melo out of NY. Now that he's agreed to a trade, they are now stalling. This has become a complete dog & pony show. The Knicks are a damn mess. I still feel like the NBA's somewhere in the background sabotaging this so Melo ends up in Cleveland

Would be nice if they agreed to trade soon (i mean i dont think Anthony is going to want to meet with GM at this point.
Especially if he has been told he was going to be traded (He agreed , knicks agreed) Why would they want him to come back- what a weird meeting that would be

New York: We hate you. We want you gone.
    Melo: You don't mean that.
New York: Yeah, we do. You want to leave.
    Melo: No, I don't.
New York: Yeah, you do. We don't love you anymore.
    Melo: No, I don't. Cry.
    New York: Yeah, you do.
    Melo: No, I don't.
    New York: Go away.
Melo: Cry. Alright. If that's what you really want.
New York: I talked to Houston. They love you.
    Melo: Really?
New York: Yes. They are a great guy.
Melo: Alright. Sigh. Let's get a divorce.
New York: Please stay. We love you.
Melo: What? But, I got all excited about Houston. What the F, New York?
New York: Please stay. We love you.
Melo: Oh. Very well. Alright, I'll stay. Love you, too.
New York: Haha. We didn't mean that. We were just saying that to get a better divorce settlement.
    Melo: ...
New York: Are you going to give us a better divorce settlement now that we have F'ed with your emotions?
Melo: Actually, my lawyer advises me to stay married.

It is. You try to flip your trash contract for Melo. But Knicks don't want it, so you have to convince other team(s) to absorb the trash contract and offer Knicks something of value. So far not ONE team has offered something good enough to get Melo here!
If Morey offered Capella+EG do you think it's gonna be this hard to get the trade done? But that wouldn't make the Rockets better. I wouldn't want that to go through. All I'm saying is Ryno's contract is too unattractive.

I have no mercy for New York - they have been screwing themselves with mismanagement of this Melo situation for YEARS. I'm not going to feel bad for them now that their star player doesn't want to play for them and holds the keys to what teams he can be traded to. I know it's not fair to the new GM, but this is the grave that Phil has already placed them in after trying to use his stupid mind tricks to motivate Anthony and destroying team morale in the process. I mean, it's smart to try to change the tone of the conversation, but I suspect this conversation is way past changing of tone.

    Good points.

We can't act desperate at this point. Let's back off for a little bit. Let Melo do the work. I don't think we should include EG and/or Capela in the deal. I am fine with the current roster starting next season.

The worst scenario is lose EG and/or Capela, and Melo and/or CP not signing with us next year. We can't be rolling the dice not seeing the downside.

Nuh I just listed 2 of the most attractive contracts as examples. Ryno has the least attractive contract on the entire team. If Morey can trade Ryno for Melo that's executive of the year kind of work. I hope that can happen too. Lmao.
Knicks are still hopeful. Let's see what happens as this drag on. Melo has all the leverage though.

Knicks don't want ryno, but there will be other teams that will take him. The Knicks are trying to maximize their return from other teams in a 3 way deal.

Um why do they need a 4th team in the first place? Because Ryno has a trash contract, and third teams offered great contracts to Knicks?
It's very hard to flip trash for gold. Morey did it with the Harden trade. But do you realize Ryno contract is much much less attractive than what Morey gave OKC? Ryno has hands down the least attractive contract on the entire team. That's why most guys on Clutchfans hate him for his contact.

BUT what exactly are they offering for taking on Ryno's bad contract? Anything Knicks want? They want to offload their own bad contract or peanuts.

We still talking about Anderson's contract? Wasn't the issue Leonard's contract from Portland that was the hang up?

The Knicks do not want Ryno because Porzingis plays the same position. That is the main reason. They found another team to take him (Portland). There may have been others. It is getting rid of Portland's bad contract that is the sticking point. Everyone needs to quit with the Ryno bad contract bit.
