It's his indecision that bothered me the most. Not his misses. At least Harden, Bev and Ariza never look like they don't want to shoot. There was so many times that Anderson looked like he'd rather be anywhere other than the 3 pt line.

Small sample size and historically an outlier. People just overreact. Anderson did pretty good against the Spurs for the most part. It was the lost of Nene and Harden's meltdown that doomed us that series.

Completely offbase & wrong. Anderson was bad offense & even worse on defense. Once teams zero in on him he's pretty much useless

they were running him really far beyond the three point line, it messed with his confidence and he didn't know what to do

If we do go into next season with Anderson, having CP3 instead of Bev will really help with that. Personally, I am excited regardless of whether or not we get Melo. I am ready for the season to start.

as far as the spurs series no it's not completely offbase and wrong. he was far from bad. anyone who watched that entire series from start to finish would be able to see that

You are very dense of thats what you think. While anderson would still be fine, he is a Huge downgrade from melo.
No inside game, no passing ability, bad rebounder...he only offers us one thing and if his shot is off hes a negative towards the team as we saw in the playoffs. And he was horid in both series not just the spurs series, while its a great fallback option if we happen to get melo for ryno and a first that would be an INCREDIBLE get by morey

What's being missed here, is the fact that the Spurs "keyed" into Ryan.

So they clearly respected his shot enough that they built a defense, in part, to stop Ryan.

They camped the lane with Pau (can I please get a 3 seconds) and played extremely tight on Ryan and the 3pt line.

Enter cp3. If you camp the restricted and stay on the 3pt line, he will come off the PnR and hit the wide open mid-range shot he's already elite at, with amazing space. You start rotating over and he hits the shooter with a pass. If (Pau) comes out to contest it opens the lane, they now have Harden run the PnR and attack the rim.

You see having 2 phenomenal PnR ball handling facilitators is amazing. Especially since both have different strengths. One gets to the rim with contact and the other is elite at the mid-range pull-up.

Conversely, how do you stop the 1-2 PnR with James and Paul? Or the 3man PnR with both of them?

Everyone keeps saying we will have a top2 offense next year, but I think we have the greatest offense of all time and even beat the warriors. And I'm saying this without melo

He was bad. I watched every series too. He may have had one good shooting game. But if you consider the liability he was on defense & rebounds, he was atrocious

Seems like you didn't watch the series against the Spurs or at least didn't understand what you were watching.

Well first of all...spare me the "small sample size". He was atrocious at home all year, and was a disaster against the Thunder.

Against the Spurs he fared better, 11 and 5 on 43/38/75 splits. Got roasted nightly on defense outside of Game 1.

Not a godawful disaster...but still fairly bad. Game 3 had 2 points and 1 rebound, Game 6 had 0 points and 6 rebounds, both in losses.

Carmelo would be an huge upgrade.

We always knew Anderson would get abused on defense by good PF's. We knew that before the season even started. Anderson had a meh first game and two terrible games. Bev arguably had a much worse series as he couldn't capitalize after Parker went down.

I agree that Melo would be a huge upgrade. That's why I want him. To say that Anderson was terrible against the Spurs however is simply not true. They played him great defensively, because he was doing pretty good.

I wrote in the pause thread that this was all a ploy by Morey so that he can surprise us like he likes to do lol

National Geograohic: Now that the Melo trade appears to be off the table at the moment the finesse creatures of Clutchfans will go into hibernation. When they will be back is not known.

I'm pretty confident we will unload him for Melo eventually. Either way, not sweating it no matter what happens.

Never said he was. He just simply wasn't "good". Stats and eye test tell you that. He was "fine" at best, which for 20 million bucks a year, might as well be bad.
