I guess technically that's true.....but Melo can tell CP3 about it and CP3 can tell Morey about it which is pretty much how it would go down. Going the bluff route would be really stupid.....but something that I could see a joke of an organization like the Knicks trying to pull off.
Now that melo has indicated he has no intention of staying and the latest Knicks antic backfired in their faces Melos what little value he had has diminished even more
They seem to be insiders on the players side rather than the front office side. Even players themselves only have but so much knowledge of what the front office is planning especially during the offseason when many are away from their team city.
JH: Hey Morey, Carmelo said he only wants to come to Houston. DM: Awesome. Let me call the Knicks DM: Hey Mills, you want to do this or not Mills: I don't know. We really want a better offer and we believe that Carmelo will accept trades to other teams. We're currently talking to him about that. DM: Well I heard from Carmelo that he only wants Houston Mills: You did what? DM: Never mind. Mills: If you want him, you gotta make me a better offer.
Well, as multi year lurker, recent poster, I feel rookie enough to ask if this is the bigest case of blue balls in clutchfans´s history?
No. The whole 2008 Olympic thing, Wade/Bosh/LeBron talked about teaming up in 2010. Wade relayed that Riley, Riley made the moves to clear the cap space after getting confirmation LeBron would join
theres tampering all the time- Pauls Agent is Melo's Agent.. He will be at the press conference. this is no coincidence not sure how normal it is to have your agent at a press conference, but rest assure someone will be talking to Melos agent while in Houston..
Did not know that these guys are insiders through the players. Even then, the GM role is one of the highest positions in a basketball organization. I'm not expecting the players to know the new Operations Analyst or the new Accounting lead the team just hired. But for a role that is prominent like a GM, I would've imagined that the players got a heads up on that before they hire. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It's more like CP3: Hey Morey, Carmelo said he only wants to come to Houston. DM: Awesome. Let me call the Knicks DM: Hey Mills, you want to do this or not? Mills: I don't know. We really want a better offer and we believe that Carmelo will accept trades to other teams. We're currently talking to him about that. DM: Oh yeah? You think so? Good luck to you with that, get back to me when you are ready to be serious about this. Mills: You might lose out on him if you don't give me a better offer! DM: I'll take my chances, have a good day Mills: But...wait! Don't hang up! Carmelo seriously told me that he's willing to waive his no trade for other teams! DM: I'm sure he did, now if you'll excuse me, I have some actual business to attend to. Call me back if you want to get a deal done or I'll wait for the inevitable buyout to happen.
In other words the Kings got nothing. Since I moved to California I quickly learned the Kings are the west coast version of the Knicks.
Yeah, because that's how Morey would play that conversation. Come on. There is no doubt the Rockets are establishing their position based on large part on what Melo has disclosed to CP3 & Beard. The point people are making is that Morey has no reason to buy the Knicks' posturing if he knows Melo's true thought process. And unless Melo starts outright lying to one of his best friends, Morey will retain that advantage.
Well a 2019 second round pick from the Knicks may be a decent pick to be honest. The Knicks suck now and they will suck then.
