I will certainly chuckle if the Knicks send picks for a GM that will proceed to lessen Melo's trade value in the process.
What would make this even more awesome is if it came out that the Knicks needed a pick in the Melo deal in order to get their GM.

This confirms what I was saying last night. The details of the trade are settled, but the new GM isn't gonna sign off without at least having a conversation with Melo. Once he talks to Melo and sees that they have no future, they'll pull the trigger.
No. How could they have predicted a new GM would come through and stop everything. Seems like with all the rumors from everyone there wasn't much of a secret of what was happening behind the scenes.
It is give and take between agents and teams. Rose doesn't want to burn any bridges either..... but there is a lot of history between Rose and the Knicks. Rose also represented JR Smith and several other Knicks players. At one point the Knicks front office tried to limit the influence of Rose and his firm. Rose obviously remembers this. Also Rose isn't likely to get much negative blow back around the league, as the general belief has been and is that the Knicks are the party screwing this up and that Anthony and Rose have handled it professionally. A week ago I told J.R. that what I was told about this whole thing not being complete was because of the Knicks..... that the attitude seems to be that it is EXPECTED that the Knicks will screw things up. For a professional franchise, in the biggest media market to be viewed in such a way is unacceptable.
Ugh, is this what's causing Knicks to pause? Great timing. If I were coming in as the new GM, I would want this mess settled before I start the job.
The reason I asked this is because if these guys were supposedly insiders, wouldn't they have foreseen a new GM coming in? Haven't seen anything from them on that subject matter.
Sounds like this will resolve sooner rather than later. No doubt Morey is relaying to CP3 and Harden what Melo's stance needs to be in order to facilitate this deal. Melo will likely dig his heels into the dirt and say give me houston and houston only, killing any hope NY has if getting more out of this deal. At least that's my hope.
Carmelo can say whatever to the Knicks; if the Rockets don't now about it it doesn't matter. They can give a different impression and Morey wouldn't know because he can't talk to Carmelo directly.
