I am willing to bet a buyout is coming soon. Morey and Melo have all the leverage in these negotiations. Melo will make his existence in New York hell for everyone in the organization. If New York doesn't consider Ryan Anderson a valuable asset then buying out Melo is cheaper than taking on Anderson...
Hmm.....the Nnicks trying to release fake news to the media? Morey does this trick better than anyone and he wont bite.
Correct. The Rockets still have the BAE to offer too. Not that it matters much but it could give a 1 or 2 million dollar edge couped with no state taxes. But in a buyout situation we have to assume Cleveland is at the top so that's why they tried like hell for a trade, but if he chose Houston it would be an incredible score for the Rockets getting him while keeping Anderson and whatever else they were moving. Anderson still has a ton of value for us.
And how do we know if he's bought out he doesn't go to Cleveland? Because originally that was his #1 choice if bought out
Until it actually happens, I won't think it's 100%, but all indications point to Melo as a rocket. We'll see... I'm just as hopeful as everyone else, but things can always change until it's official. The main thing that gives me confidence is that Melo wants to be in Houston...thats his first choice and that's where he wants to be. I don't see that part changing, and as long as he sticks to his guns, the Knicks have no other moves.
Without looking deep into it, the Cavs have no money to just sign him. Maybe someone who knows their cap situation can chime in, but I think they're stuck. Their best bet would be to trade Love for Melo, but that would be a terrible move for them.
I know exactly what's going on. Knicks still made Houston beat them in the finals. This is revenge. Sadly, the Knicks will still lose.
As usual, "insiders" and their "sources" were well of the mark. From now on, my policy is: respected journalists, or bust.
