uh oh..Why is everyone seeming so pessimistic all of a sudden? Isn't this imminent and done deal?
What to tell Rhyno? Pack your bags.

They aren't getting anything good in return anyway.

surprised at the return but this clown couldn't confirm who the 3rd team was, had no idea who a 4th team would be, and the only asset he could name is Harkless...

He should pretty much already know he isnt as good of a basketball player as Carmelo Anthony. He should feel nothing because every player thats not a superstar that can be flipped in a deal for star will always be looked into as a possibility by a front office.

The article said the Knicks were stepping away for a short time... That doesn't erase the talks at all. Once Melo confirms he wants out, they pick right back up where they left off.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is what was holding the deal up all along. This isn't news, people need to relax!

    1) You nor anyone else knows what they are getting in return.

    2) Even if it's just one second Rd pick, it's better than risking losing a guy for nothing.

Ryno should be lucky he's making so much money when he's useless for almost half the season because he can't hit a shot at home and was a liability/disappointment in the playoffs

if he really wants to control his destiny and become a rocket, he should ask for a buyout and take a lot lot lot less. Maybe just ask for $10mil of the 53mil owed to him if he played his contract all the way through.

we are over reacting. we probably were at the 2 yard line and now they are stepping away because they don't want to finish it and want to weight other options.

will this deal still go down? maybe not we will see but the knicks stepping away to reconsider and talk to melo really isn't any sort of bridge burner right now

Nah he wants out, this is a complete change of pace from his stance before. He never considered leaving and now he gave them permission to trade him to Houston or Cleveland. LaLa is on the radio talking about it, he's ready.

He is here. He shared what he was told, no need to be angry him because we don't have Melo.

Sure ... they will enjoy the cap space. Five minutes after Anthony leaves as a free agent, they will sign someone like Reggie Bullock to a 4 year 100 million dollar deal. The Knicks are a joke and will be as long as Dolan owns the team... they had to settle for the Kings sloppy seconds to be GM. Not that it matters because everyone knows Dolan and Mills make all the decisions.

Hey Melo, with a much publicized potential divorce on the horizon, please walk away from 43M dollars and sign with the Rockets for the Vet minimum to prove you "care about winning"

My mistake, they can offer you the BAE...

I'm just speculating, but if true "The Pause" could be...
    1. NY merely be bringing in the new GM and getting him up to speed before executing the trade.
    2. Bringing the new GM in and letting him get credit for finalizing this deal.
    3. DM pausing for the weekend to let CP3 get his day in the Houston sun.
    4. DM looking at another trade partner because moving Myers has become problematic.

I really don't see why Melo would stay or really why the NYK would want to keep him. Waiting until the deadline for a bigger haul for a 33-year old with a PO seems illogical. Melo could get hurt and they would get nothing or scraps. I think this moves forward--it's just PAINFULLY SLOW!!!
