I call bs on this. Seems like same espn shenanigans they pulled leading up to the Dwight signing. Ratchet up the drama for ratings, push Lebron/Cleveland angle. I'm not buying it. Especially when you have Harden & Woj being overheard sayings it's done, Chris Paul hinting at same in interview, Nene reposting Carmelo in a Rockets uniform & real estate scuttlebutt. Too much smoke for there not to be fire.
I wish journalist would be held accountable for there looseness when putting out false information, these people are suppose to serve the mass sport fan base of this country yet they only serve to hoodwink and spread false information based on personal conjecture therefore misleading the people who read and some who trust their work and they still expect to be called and held as respected journalist.
All the people saying he's going to insist on leaving are forgetting that he desperately wanted to stay in New York. Phil had to publicly attack him to get him to want out
This is just a formality. The new GM wants a chance to get familiar with the Melo situation and will ask for a meeting. Melo will tell him, "I want to go to Houston" and they will complete the trade.
Lol, so the Knicks (with their new GM) are spinning the story to the media that they tried everything and he just wanted to leave no matter what and, hence, not getting a haul for him. They're making Melo out to be the "bad guy" in this scenario. Well played Knickerbockers, well played. Lol
The resentment from everyone spending a week hitting f5 is real lol I still think we get him later and if we don't, I'm good with it. I think we're solid now. Maybe he puts us over the top but maybe we're better off as is. I'm glad we're playing hard ball.
If they keep him, everyone loses. Talk about bullsh*t. No way with Boston getting Hayward do they have a chance in the East. Just take a bad contract (although not a bad player) and picks, trade Ryno next yr when the cap increases, and freaking try to build through freaking due diligence a la Morey. Geez, these guys are just tryig to make up for the Tim Hardaway overpay.
#1 it's Ramona Shelbourne. That's a huge #1. #2 if true then they're going to force Melo to go nuclear and demand a buyout. A buyout would be even better. They would just gift us Melo.
they are going to tell melo we want you and plan to ask him to add more teams to the list if he says no if melo holds firm he can get what he wants. why be traded to a gutted team?
its their own fault. they gave melo that fat contract, with the kicker and the ntc if they built around him and at least made the playoffs im sure he would be open to staying
Whatever. The ball is on the Knicks' (or whoever is really stalling this trade from happening) court, and has been this whole time. Like I said a week ago I'll repeat again, this team with Ryno is still a 55+ win team. I won't be surprised if this team can get in that 60 win threshold. We are good right now. There is literally no rush on this deal on our side. Getting Melo isn't for the regular season, its for the playoffs. That is when the differences between a Ryan Anderson and Carmelo Anthony are going to show up the most. We absolutely need Anthony (or a player of his magnitude) then. As for now, this team with Anderson in a MDA system but with now 2 elite playmakers is going to be fine. Of course, we would like to get Anthony as soon as possible to get him and the guys acclimated with playing with each other but this deal can wait.
I honestly wouldn't be to surprised if he stayed I mean it was clear he wanted to stay in New York even thru all the Phil drama and the only reason he wanted to leave is because everyone in the organization wanted him gone.
Right. Going into the offseason it still wasn't clear the knicks could even convince him to accept a trade
Wouldn't shock me if they believe LeBron will sign there and they want to keep Melo just in case that MIGHT happen even though it will be obviously too late. They'll look just as stupid as the NBA team closest to them that traded multiple pics for 3 washed up dudes over 35. BUT THEY'RE THE KNICKS! LEGENDS! SPIKE LEE! WHOOPI GOLBERG! NEW YORK CITY!!!
Last ditch effort, it's a smart move by the Knicks. I think things move fairly quickly if Melo says thanks, but no thanks. If Melo truly wants to win, his time in NY is over.
Frank Isola is a troll. Hes the typical cynical NY sportswriter who wanted Melo gone all these years, but NOW is all about "holding on to him" another season. They know if Melo leaves to another team & plays great, they'll look like fools. Full of **** Frank Isola is the same guy who said Hakeem's lessons were a fraud. This guy
