I know it might have been discussed in one of the threads but I have a question. Would it be possible to fit Lebron into the cap next year if we acquire Melo? Like is there any conceivable way to add Melo to the Harden and CP3 duo and still add lebron with some sort of combination including Eric Gordon etc... Assuming a similar scenario to CP3 this year where he picks to come to us. Paging BIMA
I don't care what the cap is but you do whatever you can to fit LeBron James. If it means bye bye Gordon, so be it.
no, CP3 and Bron's max will start at almost 40 mil/yr...Harden will be making 30 mil/yr Melo will be making 28 mil, but let's say he opts out, he will still want to get paid a decent amount...Melo loves his money
Ariza would come off the books, melo could opt out and take a small pay cut. Cap will go up. You could add lebron if he takes less money and keep EGO. However it's most likely they would dump ego and take his money and the ariza money and pay lebron. Ariza could sign for MLE or vet min I believe if he wanted to stay.

the cap is barely going up, people keep acting like it's about to jump up by 20 mil...right now it's projected to be around 102 mil during the summer of Lebron Melo could make 28 mil in the last year of his contract if he doesn't opt out, so what is a slight pay cut? It's pretty much impossible to fit all of this under the cap.
If they don't take a paycut there's no way to make it happen, that's pretty simple. But i think there's a chance they'd do it since it's the only way they can make it happen.
Yes it's possible. Gordon would be gone for sure though and unless Ariza came back on vet min him too. May have to get rid of Nene too.
No....we cannot SIGN him. But....we could by the slimmest of margins TRADE for him. Ariza, Tucker and Gordon is enough salary for matching purposes. But this leaves us with 2 other problems: the hard cap at $125 million and minimum roster requirement of 12. Nevertheless....it is possible. Basically every other player would need to be on a minimum contract besides Capela.
Melo needs to opt out, then u gotta renounce or dump pretty much everyone not named Harden and then hope that these guys take significant pay cuts...then u fill out half the roster with some exceptions and vet mins
