    that's because he's smarter than Mills.
    And I don't really like Isola but what he's saying is better than the alternative of taking back a bad contract which doesn't expire.

    If the deal is on the 2-yard line, there's a pretty good indication that there's a willing team. @ch44 in this thread has said something similar. If there's not a fourth team showing any interest at this point, then the deal is nowhere near the "2-yard line." That's why it's disingenuous -- it's literally incompatible with their own reporting.

    Also, until we know the specifics of the players involved, it's highly speculative to discuss what type of contracts are going around in this deal. We know Ryan isn't a good enough value to simply offload into someone's empty $20M in cap space. However, that also doesn't mean he can only be traded for "albatross" type players. There are lots of shades of gray in this, and that's likely where this deal will end up.

    False, it was good information... Woj thought at the time that a Melo deal could go down that night. It was definitely good info.

    The deal didn't happen, of course, but that's an errant prediction by Woj... in terms of Ethan's transcription, it was spot on.

    He said he overheard Woj say he (Woj) thought there would be a trade that night (Monday). It didn't happen, but I don't think either dreamshake or Woj aren't credible sources.
