What if ny is OK with the 3team with Portland if they get a future 1st and 2nd? But Morey only wants to pay a 2nd and doesn't want 3 years of not having the flexibility to trade their 1st since we owe the clips next year's.

So maybe Morey is trying to find a taker for Meyers that will accept a 2nd ed pick instead. Hence we would be trading 2 2nd ed picks and have our future 1sts going forward next off-season?

Absolutely. We'll do what we have to do clearly. Morey isn't going to let the deal fall apart unless one of the untouchables is required to make it happen at this point.

 

I would think the Nets could be okay with swapping Nicholson for Meyers Leonard.. both 3 years left.. the difference is 10mil. Let the Knicks send them 5mil to make up half the difference. Leonard has a lot more potential than nicholson.

Then you worry about offloading Nicholson's deal onto someone. LOL going from Ryan Andersons 3/60, to Leonards 3/31 to Nicholsons 3/20.. Keep parlaying them Morey!

If he gets the contract down enough he can absorb it. We can't absorb Leonard because of the hard cap, but you keep moving the target and sooner or later it's a contract that Morey can say OK we'll just take it back.

Carmelo Anthony can guard Iguodala or Green when Golden State goes small. Kevin Love can't, just like Ryan Anderson. If Anderson was playable defensively vs the Warriors, they wouldn't be pursuing Melo this hard.

No chance Ariza and CC are traded. Maybe a 5% chance Gordon is traded, but that feels like a mostly lateral move if you lose him. Pretty sure Morey knows Anderson is the only rotation player that can be moved if this deal happens.

 

I bet this deal gets announced on the red carpet of the Espy's and Peyton works it into his opening monologue

 

The Rockets have tried moving some of those pieces, but not just for Anthony.... they wanted a larger deal with more more players coming in and out... but that didn't come to fruition.

 

Sure, not saying those guys are untradeable in the right deal, I was mainly just talking about in a Melo deal.
