Carmelo and Ryan are just such a different kind of player. To say "Carmelo is a Ryan Anderson who shoots better" is a dumb thing to say imo

Ha. Off topic. Tim Breaux is at the 24 on dairy Ashford n Westheimer all the time. I said what's up to him one day and he was shocked. Said barely anyone notices him. He does real estate work now.

Of course, this means Ryan Anderson's contract was never the problem. We apparently could easily trade him to Portland for Harkless and Leonard in a 2-team deal. And we could easily just get Melo and Leanard in a 3-team deal if we hadnt already gotten Chris Paul

What say you, @Zboy Ryno's contract was never much of a problem to move??

What strikes me as interesting is the term veteran player/s. Meaning... more than just Anderson could be going out as rotation players, or that this potentially might involve Ariza and/or Gordon.

It is true now that the Cavs seem to be out of the picture which is good for leverage, but the Rockets cannot put themselves in a situation to allow Melo to get bought out. They would have to assume he's going to Cleveland in that situation.

I trust Morey as a negotiator, but the CP3 deal shows that he's going to move what he needs to move to snag a star player when he can.

IF Morey makes the deal, I would fully prepare yourself to assume that Morey will pay a price whether it be Ariza, Capela, or a ton of value with draft picks.

And I surely wouldn't rule out Melo and the Knicks agreeing to a buyout and him fast tracking his way to Cleveland. Four team trades and stalled negotiations due to stone walling and playing hardball might make for a long summer that the Knicks and Melo's camp just decide they don't want to deal with anymore.

And I DOUBT a deal is done before Friday. Sounds like they have sides dug in on certain considerations they don't want to give up, and no deadline other than the start of training camp.

Btw, I really have to condition myself to stop saying "thank you" at chik fil a.

I hate hearing that weird robotic "my pleasure"

Im usually a guy with good manners but I hate walking into that weird response lol.

I heard some posters here work at chik fil a but im not sure who to trust or believe on that one.

    How should I handle this?

If the third team is truly on board, it shouldn't take long. Because the hard part, of course, is the overall structure and finding a home for Ryno. At this point, you're essentially down to making one small-ish trade -- flipping the undesirable contract from Team 3 (Meyers Leonard?) to Team 4 for something that's palatable to the Knicks.

For some perspective, if it's Leonard, he basically has $30M guaranteed left on his deal. I know it's spread over three years rather than two, but from an overall "guarantee" perspective, it's about the same as what's owed to Demarre Carroll... and Toronto was able to move him this past weekend for the relatively low cost of a future 1st that is likely to be in the 20s.

If push comes to shove, if that deal is more desirable to NYK than whatever CLE is offering (and it must be, because otherwise, why wouldn't NY be focused on a Cleveland trade?), I can't see an asset that small unraveling everything.

Not good to be in Real Estate and not recognized. Tell him to leverage being the best summer league player for a few years next time you see him!

    1. They apparently think "your welcome" is rude.
    2. Some chick explained it to me and it made like a tiny bit of sense.

If the Rockets are already giving up a first to get Melo, then who does the additional first to dump Leonard come from?
