no way in hell would the Knicks want Shump and JR around Porzingis and Ntilikina

the Cavs have absolutely nothing to offer if they're not handing over Kevin Love

The advantage of having a stable front office right now is that Morey is probably doing everything for the Knicks, while Cleveland doesn't have anybody that can figure **** out quickly, therefore, they would have a much harder time putting a three/four team trade deal together.

Taking a pay cut in California is huge because of all the tax implications. If we already have Lebron Cp3 and Melo wouldn't they all just stay?

im not sure we could make it work either.

We couldn't do a sign and trade I don't think because of the hard cap and we definitely can't clear cap to give lebron a real salary. Lebron has said no more paycuts

So whoever team #3 was, they're also trying to dump an albatross. That's the snag in the deal.

Teams 1,2 and 3 are now looking for a 4th team to dump team #3's guy, who in turn must be given some incentive to be in the deal.

At least this deflates the popular conspiracy here that the trade is hung up on trading Eric Gordon.

Good point. I don't think LeBron aka the gm is taking calls in Cabo.

Saw this from AWoj, probably already posted in this, or one of the other 733981 'melo' threads, but here it is anyway:
    http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/...king-multiple-carmelo-anthony-trade-scenarios

The New York Knicks and Houston Rockets have expanded the scope of a possible Carmelo Anthony trade to include four-team scenarios in a broader deal, league sources told ESPN.

No deal was imminent Wednesday, but the Knicks and Rockets are confident that they have a willing third-team trade partner incorporated into the framework, the sources said.

The fourth team was needed to move a particular player contract that neither the Knicks nor Rockets could or would accept in the deal, league sources said.

Anthony, 33, has two years and $54 million left on his contract.

The complexities of including multiple teams and assets in a deal creates time-consuming challenges, and there's no guarantee that a deal can be reached.

Nevertheless, New York has been pushing hard to unload Anthony in the recent weeks, although it hasn't necessarily changed an asking price that makes the deal a challenge for Houston, league sources said. The Knicks aren't interested in the Rockets' older players and big contracts, so new teams have to be brought into the deal to find a way to satisfy the Knicks.
Looks like there is now a 4th team in the mix...

If the Cavs get Melo without giving up Love, you know the NBA is rigged.

I'm very sure NBA got involved with Paul George/OKC.

How the hell are we more informed on what the Knicks are looking for in terms of incoming pieces than this New York reporter for ESPN?...

This is why ESPN works my nerves, their reporting is so agenda filled and informed. Might as well just stick Woj up there every time NBA news is being filtered out no matter what the involved cities are.
