Melo is making around 26 mil plus has a 15% trade kicker, and Chandler makes 13 mil

we'd have to send out around 40 mil in salary at least

I wonder why? Kind of sucks since the All Star break is when GMs have the opportunity to meet and negotiate deals face to face.

that's not true, stop making bullshit up, Melo has no trade clause and NY needs him out of their team because they just signed Hardway. I think morey is ls looking for better options around while being set on Melo.

So many ppl on internet claiming Melo is a bad fit.

Honestly, I like it. Lawson was a good fit, right? Dwight was a good fit, right? Fans have far less clue.

And ppl completely underestimate the impact of how much the guys want to play together.

    Bring it on.

    Woj:

No deal was imminent Wednesday, but the Knicks and Rockets are confident that they have a willing third-team trade partner incorporated into the framework, the sources said.

The fourth team was needed to move a particular player contract that neither the Knicks nor Rockets could or would accept in the deal, league sources said.

Anthony, 33, has two years and $54 million left on his contract.

The complexities of including multiple teams and assets in a deal creates time-consuming challenges, and there's no guarantee that a deal can be reached.

Nevertheless, New York has been pushing hard to unload Anthony in the recent weeks, although it hasn't necessarily changed an asking price that makes the deal a challenge for Houston, league sources said. The Knicks aren't interested in the Rockets' older players and big contracts, so new teams have to be brought into the deal to find a way to satisfy the Knicks.

Anthony is willing to waive his no-trade clause for a deal to the Rockets or Cleveland Cavaliers, league sources said. The Cavaliers haven't abandoned pursuit of Anthony, league sources said.

Houston moved to the top of Anthony's list of preferred destinations with the arrival of close friend and All-Star guard Chris Paul to join MVP runner-up James Harden.

Through 14 NBA seasons, Anthony, a 10-time All-Star, has averaged nearly 25 points a game. He has played the past seven seasons with the Knicks, who say they're committed to rebuilding around Kristaps Porzingis and younger players.

The Knicks front office has been privately saying that the organization's marching orders are now focusing on players 25 years old and younger, league sources said.

He pretty much invented published rumors in early 70s, late 60s? But, he did lots in many aspects of hoops inc working for older players' rights - - lots of which were good, and others to balance down the scales. By today he is a dinosaur, but not IMO a totally dismissable one.

    Like I said.

We can move Anderson but the other team has to send it money too and the knicks won't take it.

It's probably Portland and we're trying to find a taker for Meyers Leonard. We literally can't take him back because of the hard cap

I understand that, but all of these guys would be leaving SERIOUS money on the table. Chris Paul was prepared to sign a 4 year deal here as a FA.....I don't think he's viewing this season as a one-year trial whatsoever. And also, each player's history is very different.

    - LeBron will go wherever he has the best chance to compete against Golden State. He understands that for his brand, winning is all that matters. Money will always come.
    - Paul George desperately wants to be the savior of the Lakers. He wants the fame, the glitz, and a chance to be part of a winning team in his hometown.
    - Chris Paul just wants to win. But, not quite at the same level as LeBron. He's not going to walk away from the 5 year Super Max he's eligible to get with the Rockets. Especially because he'd be teaming up with one of the premiere superstars in the league in Harden.
    - Carmelo just wants to get the **** out of New York. I don't think he's even THINKING about what happens next season. He's only interested in moving on, and start the process of healing his brand.
