Nothing against Judge but the media doesn't need to shove him in our face that often. Forgot it was all star week and not just a Yankees game.

Last night, great pitchers won out over great hitters. Such a contrast to NBA All Star games that are scoring fests with no defense.

    Agreed.

I understand the premise.... all the networks are desperate for ratings, and while the 1998 HR race and Barry Bonds eras were tainted.... they did draw in viewers at the time. Thus, they feel the public loves the long-ball... and they love it even more when the player who hits them plays in the biggest media market, has a larger than life appearance, and seems to be quite likable.

But in the mean time, its a slap in the face to Mike Trout... its a slap in the face to the Red Sox (a team currently ahead of the Yankees in the standings, and who plays in a big enough market)... and finally, it does take away from the resurgence of parity/smaller market/well-run teams over the last several years.

"Baseball needs him to become the face of the game!".... is basically marginalizing the very recent achievements of the Cubs, Royals, Indians... and for this year, the Astros.

Definitely. The baseball needs him to be a face of the game thing was a complete joke. Baseball has been just fine.

All Star week was the first time the Judge coverage reached aggravating levels for me.

I've mostly shrugged it off because he has been legit awesome this year, but holy crap with the best players in the world on display they talked about nothing else. Justin Bour hit 22 f**king homeruns in a round, but on the sportscenter I watched he didn't get a single highlight, just a courtesy mention as the guy Judge beat and about 15 replays of a Judge HR that went really far.

Houston Rockets basketball games are going to be scoring fests with no defense.

Usage of the word fest peaked in 1810. Usage of the word Rockets peaked in 1951.

I didn't realize that Judge was the 90th ranked prospect coming into this season according to baseball America. Bring up Tucker now. :)
