What, in god's name, does the trumped up assault on Obama and the place of his birth have to do with the topic of this thread? The answer? Absolutely nothing. You and those like you, with all due respect, are digging such a deep hole for your reputations that I wonder if those reputations will ever see the light of day again in this forum.
I think headlocked political views that are harming our country is definitely calling it what it is. Can't we stop there or similarly even toned takes? Calling a third of our fellow citizens awful names may feel righteous but I fail to see any positive path from there. Just my take and I wasn't calling any one poster out. Have seen lots of names used by lots of folks. And again, I'm as sad and frustrated and gobsmacked as anyone. I think a lot of Trump voters feel so abandoned by America and want the chance to see if the Trump fantasy of MAGA could come true. So I can almost understand their desperation w this recent revelation.
So we are back to "unlawful" surveillance. The Devin Nunes game where he then would confuse the American people by combining the issue of unmasking with surveillance. Do you want to go ahead, and go where I know you will go, and combine unmasking, and throw Susan Rice into the conspiracy as well? I know where this is going, and its obvious to see. The Obama administration didn't have to go through hoops, and plant moles to get surveillance on Trump. The FBI already had FISA warrants granted due to the likes of folks like Carter Page already warranting surveillance. If I recall they LEGALLY got a FISA warrant to monitor Page due to the fact that he was recruited (unclear if successful or unsuccessfully) to spy for the Russians. General Flynn also got caught on LEGALLY monitored phone calls discussing sanctions on the 29th of Dec. There are also the money laundering/Russian Oligarch investigations that Preet Bahrara was leading going back years that had the ability to have eyes on the Russians associated (maybe loosely, maybe just using Trump tower to funnel money for shell companies) with the Trump org. My point is, it seems incredibly stupid to do something like plant moles in order to survey the Trump campaign when there were about a million other smarter ways to get an idea as to what the Trump folks were up to. The FBI, DOJ, CIA, NSA, etc. were all going to have eyes on Trump if they wanted to. You said it yourself... "The Left" thought Hillary would win. It makes no sense to put yourself in some sort of espionage gamble in a supposed safe bet that Hillary would win anyways, and you already had methods to get to the bottom of any Trump wrongdoings. Also the only way we know that there was an apparent "Mole" in place to lure Donald Jr. into communicating with Glee with that Mole, is through THREE SOURCES IN THE WHITE HOUSE. If the Obama admin was setting up this plot with a Mole to bury Jr. why wouldn't they be the ones to use this valuable piece of dirt on Trump Jr., etc. instead of waiting until Trump officials in the White House threw Don Jr. under the bus? But maybe Obama did plant this mole... Maybe? However it still doesn't erase the clear as day facts that Don Jr. released himself where he showed that he was sure as hell willing and trying to play along with any proposed Russian attempt to help Trump get elected.
Last night Trump CIA Director Mike Pompei said that Russians definitely interfered with the 2016 election and have done so for years. CIA director on Russian election interference: 'They’ve been at this a hell of a long time' http://thehill.com/policy/cybersecu...ction-interference-theyve-been-at-this-a-hell And now, current Trump FBI Director nominee Christopher Wray shoots down the "'witchhunt" trump/republican talking point: Unfortunately, Trump does not listen to the smarter people in the room. Ever. Nor do many republican/conservatives/trump supporters here.
I understand this and I agree. If that is somehow directed at me, I do take the criticism. However I just think its important to continue to remind folks about that flag they have sitting in their front lawn, and challenge where their priorities lie. Sure Democrats are guilty too of tribalism, but the current situation we have right in front of us faces one particular party with huge questions about party over country. The election process is the most important thread to our democracy, and at the end of the day, its about protecting that for our country. I personally think its fair to question patriotism in this manner that we haven't seen before in years.
Is the poster becoming increasingly agitated while making the same point over and over again? Do they not understand why easy-to-understand arguments are being stonewalled? The evidence is clear: they're being Bobbed.
And you are the one complaining about the left making accusations without actual real evidence to back them up? LOL!
I guess there was too much of a risk of someone at Fox News actually asking a direct question that would stump Trump: 'The 700 Club' host Pat Robertson to interview President Trump http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/t...-to-interview-president-trump/article/2628405 Seriously, you couldn't even make this stuff up...
I knew this was coming. Trump was going to go the disgraced preacher route on us so his flock of dopes could pray for him.
OMG... Trump and his banda finally accepts the fact that his comrades did meddle with the 2016 election... but to help Hillary. From The 700 Club interview... LOL... republicans... this is the guy you are supporting?
Of course, Trump's new diversionary tactic is completely counter to what the U.S. Intelligence Community that clearly concluded that Russia was meddling to hurt Hillary and help Trump... And for the obvious reasons... Trump's moves have been to the benefit of Russia.
It continues to amaze that an ignorant, mentally ill buffoon contradicts an entire intelligence apparatus with non-sensical bologna and his Trumpanzees eat it up. We're seriously screwed as a country. It's just appalling on every level, a total disgrace.
The Wall Street Journal is behind a firewall, but here is a reporting of what the WSJ is now reporting: US intel agents heard Russian officials discussing Trump associates as early as Spring 2015: report http://www.rawstory.com/2017/07/us-...mp-associates-as-early-as-spring-2015-report/ Link to WSJ article for those with subscriptions Spoiler: WSJ Article WASHINGTON—U.S. intelligence agencies starting in the spring of 2015 detected conversations in which Russian government officials discussed associates of Donald Trump, several months before he declared his candidacy for president, according to current and former U.S. officials. In some cases, the Russians in the overheard conversations talked about meetings held outside the U.S. involving Russian government officials and Trump business associates or advisers, these people said. It isn’t clear which Trump associates or advisers the Russians were referring to, or whether they had any connection to his presidential aspirations. The reports were gathered by intelligence agencies that routinely monitor Russian espionage against the U.S. Such efforts can include monitoring phone calls and emails as well as information from informants. The efforts weren’t aimed at Mr. Trump or his associates, these people said. Emails released by President Trump's son Donald Trump Jr. offer evidence that senior campaign officials entertained accepting Russia’s help in the 2016 election. Trump has made a series of comments about Russia on the campaign trail and as president. Photo: Getty The U.S. intelligence agencies weren’t sure what to make of the vague and inconclusive information, given that Mr. Trump had done business in Russia and was a global celebrity well-known to prominent people there. The names of Americans do sometimes show up in conversations involving Russian officials that are overheard by U.S. intelligence. Now, in light of the release of emails Tuesday by Donald Trump Jr., the president’s eldest son, investigators are going back to those early reports to see if they can understand them better. The emails provide details about a meeting Donald Jr. arranged in June 2016—as his father was on the verge of clinching the Republican nomination—with a Kremlin-connected lawyer to discuss allegedly incriminating information about Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton obtained by the Russian government. Donald Jr. and the Russian lawyer said no information on Mrs. Clinton was disclosed in the meeting. But the emails offer the first clear public evidence that senior officials in Mr. Trump’s camp were open to offers of assistance from Russia in his quest for the White House. A lawyer for Mr. Trump didn’t return a call seeking comment on the overheard 2015 conversations. As with other new revelations in the probes of Russian interference in the election, the Trump Jr. emails enable investigators to look at earlier reports with fresh eyes, and to ask new questions, the current and former officials said. The reports on the 2015 conversations weren’t particularly illuminating, the people familiar with them said. Mr. Trump had business connections in Russia—he produced the 2013 Miss Universe pageant in Moscow—and had sold properties to Russians. In that respect, the reports in and of themselves weren’t alarming. But they did have officials asking each other, “What’s going on?” one former official said. Then, in the spring of 2016, U.S. intelligence officials’ suspicions about Russian meddling in the election grew after their counterparts in Europe warned that Russian money might be flowing into the presidential election, according to officials with knowledge of the warning. It remains unknown if or whether those funds were funneled to a particular campaign or to others to spend it on behalf of candidates. In June 2016, officials at the Democratic National Committee revealed that their computer networks had been penetrated by hackers, whom the FBI and intelligence agencies later determined worked for the Russian intelligence services. Emails taken in those incursions subsequently were published by WikiLeaks, and in October, the site released emails that had been stolen from Mrs. Clinton’s campaign chairman, John Podesta. At that point, intelligence officials had little doubt that the Russian government was attempting to interfere in the presidential elections. By the end of 2016, they concluded publicly that the Russian hacking campaign was meant to undermine Mrs. Clinton and help Mr. Trump. Now, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and several congressional committees are probing Mr. Trump’s ties to Russia over the years, as is special counsel Robert Mueller. Hmm... I wonder what else is already known? This seems to support Schiff's statement about much more being known...
