Even if the Trump campaign worked with the Russian government, I'm not sure if it's a crime to do so. What I mean is that it's not treason, and it may not even fit in the definition of collusion as far as deceitful means. I suppose if they can prove a case of lying, then maybe. But definitively? Not sure.

I think this hurts Trump more politically than legally. That's probably what he is most ticked about. He wanted the story to be that he won the election fair and square - and in both the popular vote and electoral college. He didn't, and it burns him. And he wants all of this to just go away b/c it keeps nagging at point #1- him "winning." And it could affect him at the ballot box in 2020. Remember, this is a guy who filed for the 2020 election faster than any President in history.

I honestly believe President Trump doesn't really care about governing, or even the country, compared to just winning and being in power.

There doesn't need to be an exchange for there to be a crime.

No but there does have to be evidence of a crime.....and that's what this thread has been lacking the entire time.

At what point do the stubborn conservatives here admit - at the very least - that going to that meeting was wrong? "No evidence of a crime," "no evidence of collaborating," blah blah blah. Trump really and truly could get away with murder, and his staunch reporters, including the ones here, would remain staunch.

It comes to a point when steadfastly defending this incompetent and corrupt administration/party is just downright sad. A level-minded, critical thinker would've begun to scratch their head by now and wonder just what the hell is going on. But no, let's ride this Trump train to hell no matter what atrocities are committed.

I would like you to please explain to me why Trump's team would lie about anything and everything to do with Russia repeatedly if what they were doing was only creating proof of innuendo. Why would they lie/forget/amnesia/alzheimer's it has to be something.

This is all self inflicted. The grey area, constant lying, 10 D chess game Trump has apparently been playing has caused his own biggest headache.

Trump is not a leader. He garnered Washington republican support because they thought he could be a rubber stamp president.

Are you of the opinion that they tell the truth about anything all that often?

I'm sorry if the facts upset you but

    1. There's no evidence of a crime.
    2. It's not something that any other campaign wouldn't have done....you just wouldn't have heard about it because there wouldn't be a witch hunt looking for anything they can spin into the appearance of impropriety.

I end up having to say the same thing to you guys that I had to say to the birthers, just give it up. There's no "there" there and you guys are starting to come off like conspiracy theory nutjobs. I don't like Trump, I didn't like Obama, but that didn't make the birther nonsense okay and it doesn't make this nonsense okay either.

Just keep it in your pants till something legit turns up if something legit is ever going to show up.

Awesome man, I'll refer back to this post when my head gets all twisted with all of this innuendo and need to get set straight.

I need to refer back to some articles and videos to when Obama was a congressman preparing to run for president. I remember those emails coming out from Obama's chief of staff, and others meeting with national rings and historically hostile governments known for creating fake birth certificates. Those same governments documented hacking/attempted hacking into Hawaiian hospital records, and courthouse records to circumvent the birth certificate trail.

I'm just glad it came out to be nothing like this zero proof, but constantly lie about Russia thing. A non natural born citizen would have made a farce of democracy and could have brought the whole thing into a "grab em by the nuts and take their guns" mockery.

I'm pretty sure you didn't understand what I said. Try again at some point when you have time.

Nah man I got it. What this thread is about and Obama's birth record is a absolutely perfect comparison.

Just because I'm such a nice guy, I'll give you a hint to help you while you attempt to read what I said for a second time. Note how I'm not comparing the severity of what the 2 presidents are being accused, I'm only talking about how they were both accused of things without any proof by people who come off as conspiracy theory nutjobs.

    Good luck.

I will say one thing though, how crazy is it that the D&D is less ridiculous tonight than the GARM?

I used fake examples of things that DID NOT happen with Obama. not to show a comparison of severity but to show a extremely simple connection between Russian hacking and repeatedly contact with Russia and lied about from Trump's people. Seven people have lied now and backtracked.

Look up the definition of innuendo please. Also cognitive dissonance would perhaps be something to look into also.

Real question for you Sugga'. Cops pretend to be hooker. Guy calls hooker asking for sex. Guy shows up, no secks happened. The intent to solicit sex is apparent.

Even if your stupid scenario were true, the man admitted to seeking damaging information from a foreign government official...his only cry for help right now is that "I didn't know who she was." As Charles K pointed out...you call the FBI, you don't take the meeting with Kushner and Mannafort tagging along. You're a smart guy, why do you act so inept on the internets.

The point is that you can't show any actual proof of legal wrongdoing. In fact, that's why what he's actually being accused of has changed so many times as those pimping the narrative out have hit dead end after dead end only to pick up with something else they think sounds convincing.

BTW one definition of innuendo is "an indirect intimation about a person or thing, especially of a disparaging or a derogatory nature."
