I hope I'm wrong, because that would mean we'd be waiting until September...

EDIT: he was traded June 29, so not quite September, but close.

As I think about how good Ryan Anderson would be with X players around him, I remember just how many wide open 3's he missed when it really mattered and how that's literally his only NBA caliber skill.....and then I remember that laughably ridiculous contract he's signed to.

BimaThug is trying to soften the blow, but it won't work

get Ryno tf outta here, we want Melo

imagine how good Melo can be playing next to CP3 and Harden

He shot 7 3s a game and made 40% of them....that's elite by any definition of shooting. But sure...he still missed the majority of his jumpers so I guess he's terrible.

Ryno is Ray Allen on the road, but Tony Allen at home

What was that 3 point percentage looking like in the playoffs?

he shot 3-29 from 3 at home in the playoffs and averaged 7 ppg against OKC in the 1st round...and of course he didn't provide any rebounding or defense

That's lower than 7 Astros' batting average.

He was often horrific at home. You'd think there were klieg lights on the rim at Toyota Center, the way he was shooting. I have nothing against him, but if we can upgrade, we upgrade, and don't look back.

I heard he's being traded tonight! Wait...that was last night...

Ok, he might be traded tonight. BUT, it's possible that he won't be.

I can promise you that Melo either will or will not be traded tonight.

Yeah, I got the numbers wrong by looking at the wrong column, that's why I erased what I wrote just not quickly enough. Good to know that people are checking those kinds of things though.

He was 3 for 24 from 3s in the OKC series which was very hard to stomach since he was brought in as a $20 million 3pt specialist.

Your sample size is tiny and doesn't factor in his overall impact on the game.

He was an obvious focus for the defense in both the OKC and SAS series. That allowed Capela to get his dunks and Harden to get his fouls, but nobody will give Anderson credit for that.

Anderson is a limited player...no doubt. But he is an excellent, elite level shooter....probably top 5 in the NBA (including guards) at that one skill. The fact that two playoff teams were able to limit him reflects on not just him, but also the rest of the roster and overall offensive game plan (which was in turn impacted by the makeup of the roster).
