Yeah but do we want any of those guys back? That's what I'm saying , sure there are worse contracts out there than Ryan's but we don't wanna move him for those ... It would defeat the purpose .
LOL sorry but even taking back Mozgov with the 28th pick and Clarkson as compensation(which btw is bad for them) but it's still better than taking Anderson without any compensation. Or you think our second is worth anything?
The nets are one of our best hopes . But even then they have to weigh the opportunity costs of picking up Ryan . They have cap room now, but if they get Anderson they won't . That limits what they can do in free agency in future years ; it also limits them if a team wants to dump a better player to open up salary . Think about how Dallas facilitated GS dumping bogut . They could only do that because they had cap space . If the nets take on Anderson it limits their ability to do that if a team has to dump a good player . The player doesn't even have to be great , just better than Anderson for the nets to regret having helped us out.
Sign and Trade Blake for Anderson... But I felt at many points our offense was so great because of Anderson. If there was a way to keep those 8 guys and just replace someone... I would love to somehow upgrade the 3 from Ariza tho and demote him to the bench. We don't have any cap what so ever. We need a point forward for sure. Blake Griffin could be a solid point forward Josh Smith type player. He could pass and play Center for us well. But like I still don't wanna lose anderson's spacing.. Morey gonna have to get creative for sure.
There's no reason for Griffin to faciliate a S+T unless he only wants to come to Houston and no other team.
Anderson didn't really have a "down" season. He played his second highest number of games (72) and had a near career high in 3pt% (40.3%, by far the highest on our team on career high attempts). The rest were reasonably close to his avg output per minute played. Overall he was decent - was he $19M decent - no. When evaluating a player posters seem to deviate either towards great or horrible. He is a serviceable stretch 4 that can fit in on a lot of teams. Given some of the outrageous sums being paid to players his salary is still high but again still serviceable. Anderson is nowhere near the albatross that is being thrown around here.
Remove is contract and the fact that he is our starter and i'd love to keep him. I am fine with his offensive production I would like more defense and rebounds for my 19 million I just cannot get beyond the 0-19 to start the playoffs at home Rocket River
it's like that tick on your dog's ass that never gets off. no matter how much he scratches, no matter how much you pull at it. **** is stuck for life until you just burn that MF off w/ a lighter or something
Seriously? This is not because of a few playoff games, clutchfans for some reason hates Ryan Anderson because he makes a lot of money and he's not a superstar. The market said a stretch big who shoots at his caliber is worth $20 million in today's NBA. Get over it. He did what he was supposed to do. Just look at all the contracts handed out last year and this year. Ryan Anderson is actually fair market value. Hes still 29 and 33 year old reddick just got $25 million for one season and he is pure trash on defense.
Agreed, this would be an easy trade if it was for Patrick Patterson. Carmelo is the best player on the Knicks and one of the best players in the league. This is why we want this trade to go through so bad and to be centered around Anderson. If we threw in Clint Capela and Eric Gordon's name, it would be more likely that the trade goes through, but the enthusiasm would be down quite a bit because we would then be giving up more league wide perceived assets to get Carmelo.
