Nah, if it was just a private discussion and not directly about this trade. Also think D'Antoni stated similar things in an interview weeks or months ago, him and Melo are on good terms and have left this NY saga behind.

This deal is set but we can't include Zhou Qi or any rookie signed this summer in a trade until October.

Anderson's contract is bad. It goes for 3 more years, and he's overpaid by about 5 million.
Teams who want to win, don't have the capspace to absorb him and teams who have the capspace dont' need him and don't want him.
So that means that if you want to trade him away you have to give incentive aka first rounders.

As for Portland , after reading some Blazers fans analysis, it turns out it doesnt make any sense that Portland will trade Harkless and Leonard away. If they get involved it will be for Turner and Leonard.
That's why this isn't happening.
They need to find a team that can take on Rhyno while trading away short term contracts/ expirings.
And of course you will have to hope that Melo waives his trade kicker..

As for Orlando's board that was with Hennigan. Now he's fired and they changed their whole managment. It doesn't mean anything anymore.
