Melo isn't that much of a ball dominant player as most people thought. According to stats.nba.com, last season 40% of his shot are attempted with 0 dribbles, compare this to KD's 46%. KD has lots of teammates to create shots for him, but Melo doesn't. So I'd say as far as the willingness to play off ball is concerned, Melo is comparable to KD.

Besides, Melo's shots are much more accurate taken with 0 dribbles than with non-zero dribbles. I think overall Melo is good playing without ball, and I am sure CP3/Harden will deliver good passes to him to make him much more efficient than he was in NY.

It's possible, if all 3 players can shoot the hell out of that ball.

I'm not worried as much about Harden or CP3, more worried about how well Melo will take to being a number 3 option. Also worried a bit about his relationship with MDA.

    No 1 option.

It does not guarantee anything but it's a good head start.

So basically it's about Ego and Stats. KD got less ball-dominant and became a more dominant player. Melo is not at the same level, but with 2 elite guards feeding him, I see no reason Melo has to bring the ball up himself.

That is exactly what Melo is going to be asked to do. The ball handling and playmaking will be done by CP3 and Harden. When Melo gets the ball his job will be to shoot.

You know who never passes? Klay Thompson. And that's because his job is to shoot when he gets the ball.

Klay is a willing 3rd banana, plays very good defense on top his 3p shooting.

Melo, brings nothing else other than his excellent scoring, something that Harden is already doing. Yes Melo is a definite upgrade over Ryno. But how much more is he actually bringing to the table? When he is no longer the number 1 option on offense and playing out of position at the PF spot. I am more than happy to be proven wrong by Melo, but I just highly doubt it.

Listen Daryl if you didn't think it would work why did you make the trade? Of course it will work CP3 shot 39% from 3 the last 3 seasons and lord knows Harden needs a break

    Lol "out of position"?

Are you worried he'll have a hard time with Tyrone Corbin or Chris Gatling down low? Jesus. Really? Out of position?

All he brings is another all star in an era where you need 3 to even avoid being swept by the Warriors to a team that has 2.

Carmelo will not be ball dominant. He will be an ace play finisher.

Russell a westbrook James Harden and Kevin Durant got to the finals as 3 ball dominant players. If the you stayed together they probably have a ring right now.

What exactly is the history of failure?
What team are you referring too
That had the 'Ball dominant' players and failed?

Where they successful before and failed after?
    or
Where they failing the whole time?

IF the Rockets get to the Western Conference Finals or the NBA Championship
If they lose is it a 'Failure'?

I mean that will be further than Melo or CP3 have ever been before
and Harden has been there at least twice

Melo could have Hank Hill's dad's knees and still be more mobile than Anderson
and play as good on defense.
I have more confidence in Melo taking those three pointers than Anderson
