On one hand, you just disappointed so many people. On the other hand, you just saved so many people from F5ing the next 24 hours.
They couldn't get Griffin to take the job because he had this weird notion that as GM he would get to make basketball decisions for the organization. Not sure, but Sam Hinkie might want that little weird, quirky privilege as well.
I call BS on this NBC piece. The FO situation wasn't resolved last week and that didn't stop Mills from signing THJ. This is Mills' show and he'll still make moves, with or without a GM.
They aren't reporting anything, just offering analysis. To say trading Melo is inherently more difficult when you don't even have a basketball ops president isn't something I would disagree with.
Ha. I was actually thinking right the opposite — that the presser would be non-stop Melo questions if he's still there. Pretty much a no-win situation, I suppose.
There'll be Melodrama anyways, and not just because of Melo (now that Griffin has pulled out). Lots of talking points for the media.
Fair point. I just think if you haven't traded him you can say "Right now, Melo is a member of the NY Knicks" and drop it there. If you traded him though that's all anyone will want to talk about. Either way though he'll dominate the press conference though you're right. Now with this Griffin thing? Geez NY.
I agree but this is more generalized analysis on the whole and not specific to the Knicks situation. Mills may as well be President & GM of the club now...
He did gave away the offersheet. Which exactly was the reason they went after Griffin. It "caused shock inside and outside the organisation". But at the same time they couldn't put up with Griffin's outrageous demands for control in decisions.
Dolan- "What do you want to do with this organization" Griffin- "I have a vision of..." Dolan- "Next"
Yeah if he isnt traded by then then they will ask a ton of melo questions about possibly playing with him No way around melo talk lol.
Fukn knicks are pathetically dysfunctional. They are only holding up other competent teams from reaching their offseason goals.
