Not sure if relevant, but... today is the day on which Allen Crabbe's "no trade" rights expire because the Knicks matched his RFA contract offer exactly 1 year ago today.
Yes, but - - if LBJ really does have a foot out the door on the freeways of the Left Coast would attaining CMA be fair to his bud???
Crabbe was offered an offersheet by BKN which Portland matched not the Knicks. He could be traded before today but he had to give his consent (unless it was to BKN). Now it's not needed.
1. Months ago was asked several times about Melo being move. I said when I had updates I would provide. 2. Weeks ago was asked several times about Melo being released. I said he would not be released and when I had more I would let you know. 3. Days ago was asked several times about Melo being traded. I said Portland was a possible 3rd team. Once I had more I would provide it. 4. Yesterday...I told you Melo would be a Rocket, and once I had more info I would pass it along. I'm telling you the info as I get it.
I've been very critical of Melo on CF. Very critical. But the Rockets don't have a ton of options. I don't think Gordon will be included in this rumored trade, but I suspect Capela might be. We shall see.
What I worry about is what CRAPPY CONTRACT we have to take back along with getting Melo. I am hoping we hang onto Clint & Gordon.
Is Melo a Rocket yet? Also what an exciting time to be a Rockets fan. Players want to come here again.
If we can sign WIllie Reed, I'd be willing to throw in Capela with Ryno but would ask for a future protected first too. Something like 2020 top 20 protected, 2021 lottery protected, 2022 unprotected. Capela is getting the max in a near future, that's the truth. If we can deal the NGs for Reed in a 4 year 20 mil deal, last year team option. We do it. Sign a backup/3rd string big man, a 3rd string PG like Tony Douglas and call it a day.
