You poison the locker room if Melo is still on the roster when the season begins along with making the Knicks reputation even worse than it already was around the league. It's honestly not a valid option. They have to trade him to one of the 2 teams he's willing to waive his no trade for or negotiate a buyout. That's really all there is to it.

Much more valid option than getting back huge bad contracts. They don't have to do anything. They are his employees and pay him. If he doesnt' waive his NTC for other teams he is free to get his paycheck in his house, get wrecked in the press and get older without a ring. That is called leverage. They have leverage over Melo. The rockets need be smart in what they are giving up. If we give Anderson and a pick for it I would be fine with that. If NY won't do a deal (with or without a 3rd team) then I truly believe melo will be bought out but at the same time if gets bought out I think the Cavs have a better chance of getting him. Either way in morey I trust.
