Thats the best part.. whichever one of those 3 that isnt guarded by the other teams top 2 defenders. you cant defend them all on one inbound play...

Once. And advanced stats didn't consider him the best player on that team.

Anthony has had a problem with his left knee for a few years now. People should accept that he's declined athletically. He can still be a good player, and as a third option here you have to take the chance, but it's silly to argue he's better than guys because of a season he had almost a decade ago. He's not that player anymore

So if the Jazz had Melo instead of Hayward how do you see that team better or worse?

I mean the dude has to feel like ****. He went from being in a debate as a top 5 player , then left for New York and now he's a punch line

Worse for sure. Melo is a worse passer, worse defender, worse shooter, worse "system" player.

Hopefully if we get him he'll be motivated to make it work to resurrect his legacy

He's had 2-3 really good statistical playoff series the rest are pretty blah. However, most of his playoff runs are 6 games or less. Too small of a sample size to really have much of a takeaway but certainly nothing here to say his playoff performance should elevate him above kevin love or Hayward

He will get good experience in Boston. I admit i have not studied hos game deep enough but at the same time he doesn't seem like a threat outside his jumpshot.

Man, Hayward is so much more than a jumpshooter wow.

Can attack the basket, play without the ball, create offense for himself or others, etc. He's good at everything.

Prime melo of course was a better scorer than Hayward though no doubt. Prime melo was a dominant offensive player and Hayward is just a good one. Melo isn't that guy anymore though. That's why he's a good fit here as a THIRD option

The Rockets. Nobody on the team has the height and length to guard KD but Trevor. Lee would only be useful on Thompson, but that's Tucker's likely assignment. Plus Trevor was instrumental in getting CP3 here. The Knicks aren't getting quality players back for Melo.

I've seen it but it just doesn't seem like when he's driving to the basket guys are like uh oh here comes Hayward. I don't know it's tough to really explain. I believe Boston is perfect for him. In Utah it didn't seem like they let play free enough to really show how great he can be.

The issue with Anderson is he can't matchup athletically with anyone in Golden State's small ball lineup more than anything. Melo is terrible defensively too and has declined athletically, but he is a better matchup on Iguodala or Draymond than Anderson and it's not close.

Haters gonna run their mouths about melo but everyone says yes is he wants on ur squad. Last year Gordon was a joke, funny how being on a team you like changes you. Anthony will fit in great

Dude had an offensive rating of 118 last year.
    Offensive bpm of 4.2
Shot nearly 70% on his 2 pointers around the rim

Melo never finished around the rim at the rate Hayward did last year. 50% overall on 2s, 70% around the rim and 40% from the 3. If he played in our system and dropped the mid range he'd be a 50-40 guy.

Playing in Utah really hid him from people I guess

Love suffers from the same problem Ryan Anderson does. They simply lack the quickness needed to guard any perimeter player in Golden State's small ball lineup. It makes them a major liability.

Gordon Hayward doesn't have that problem.
