So if we get Melo for Ryno and say 2020 1st, can we use our BAE still? With Kelly being cut, how much NGs do we have? We still need another backup guard and big man. Can't rely on EG and Nene for a full season. I really hate the idea of a 8 man rotation, we need it 9 or 10.
Morey knows how important EGO is to the roster... he is our sixth man. Iggy was/is key for the Warriors to unlock their full potential. Same for EGO. Ariza helped get CP3 here. No way we trade him. Hes our best defender. We need him and Tucker to throw at the wild wings in the West.
No, totally the other way around. I get things in reverse all the time,,,I blame it on my mild case of lesdyxia. Free agents are FREE to talk to anyone. Players under contact have to get the OK from the team who owns their contract. Morey technically cannot call Melo or his Agent or even mention interest in public, without first Getting clearance from Knicks GM. Of course, Knicks would have to lodge a complaint. And that tweet is even more blatant, if she's implying Melo was actually at Toyota Center shooting around.
Tbh i would almost be shocked if we lose Ariza in a deal for Melo...i mean, he's declining, expiring, the Knicks want him out but they can only trade him to one team...
Thinking Morey is counting on Zhou or Hartenstien to be that extra big if we lose Nene or Capela... both 7 footers we can put at the end of the bench and could possibly be decent rim protectors in limited minutes. As far as another guard I'm right there with you. I would like 4 solid guards not sure who that 4th one is though.
LMAO dumbass Sportscenter twitter (classic ESPN morons). Too bad none of those were even offers. Anderson for Melo has been the only real offer and the trade they propose in this graphic between the Rockets has the Rockets giving up FAR too much salary which means it wouldn't even work. Its obvious the ESPN types REALLY want Melo to go to Cleveland so they can further the GSW/CLE rivalry up this season.
In 23 games for the Rockets last season Lou Williams averaged 25 minutes a game. Harden, Beverley and Gordon all continued to get their normal minutes. I see no issue with DWade getting enough minutes for a 35 year old player.
So we give paul something like 4 years, $115 million and melo 3 years, $90 million? Meh, just wait and see.
I don't think that a veteran team planning on contending for a title will bet on rookies for rotation minutes. Lucky for the Rockets that there are still plenty of free agent centers available and may be forced to sign a BAE or even minimum contract. The whole "small ball" and "stretch 4" trend has really added to the demand for SF/PF types and subtracted from the "traditional bigs." Dedmon, Willy Reed, Tarik Black and even Mason Plumlee (the good Plumlee) are all still available.
Barbosa has played under MDA for multiple years. How could u say no to Barbosa but yes to a huge scrub like Ennis?? Ennis is garbage and should get 0 minutes on any team that's even thinking about trying to make the playoffs. Barbosa played a nice role off the bench for GS when they won a ring in 2015.
Not gonna happen. I think Morey would rather give up the 2020 pick than move anyone on the current roster. You need some continuity from last year, and if you trade any of those guys, you really lose that. They all fill crucial roles on the team that are not easily replaceable ...especially this late into free agency. With the Harden extension, Morey would move a pick rather than undermine the current roster's chances this year. And frankly, since the Knicks are in rebuilding mode, the pick has to be attractive to them.
