The waiter literally just brought over a bottle. Why is that worth more than 50 cents?

Don't really get why a more expensive product entitles a waiter to substantially better tips, it doesn't make sense to me.

It's not like the waiter provided better service just because of the price, neither did he produce the product.

Doesn't matter how rich the customer is.

Let me ask you this, do you tip at best buy? Let me tell you, they don't make much per hour, you spend a **** ton more, and they have to go get your item. Some of the those desktops are heavy too.

The US tip culture is just crazy now. Everywhere I go, there is a tip jar. Buy a coffee or drink with a credit card? There is a tip line for you to fill out or pos system for you to tap how much tip to leave. Crazy.
Tips are meant to reward good service. Not supplement income. Get bad service? Better still leave 15% minimum tip.
I'm 100% with Roberson on this one.

So did the waiter have to pour the contents of the bottle into glasses and keep refilling? Otherwise sounds like a non story to me, don't give a **** if the guy is a billionaire. I hate people who believe they are entitled to ****.

Order the food and pick it up yourself? Tip line.

I still end up leaving them $2 if its a restaurant and not a pizza chain.

I think Roberson is full of ****. According to tmz, him and his boys were ordering drinks all night, including long islands. If you look up the place on the receipt, it's not a nightclub where you get bottle service.

He's a cheap **** that can't shoot free throws or math correctly on his cheap tip.

If only waiters had a collective bargaining agreement that would protect the interests of even the terrible ones -- those who can't pour shots and know only how to clean up.

Hey Andre, don't forget to send your union rep Chris Paul -- a thank you card for making you rich!

I leave 10% on those because I understand that a waiter usually had to take a little bit of their time in order to put all your crap together, so it isn't fair not to leave anything. I do hate the tipping culture here, but when I went to Spain, the non-tipping culture kind of drove me crazy as well. I hated having to go look for the waiter to bring me **** sometimes lol. I wonder if there is a medium we can find where everybody is happy.

And you probably do it more for social pressures and expectations than rewarding good service. Now if the person had given you a glass of water while you waited then he/she would have deserved it. But tipping people to do their jobs is ridiculous.
For those people who argue that people outside the hospitality industry don't understand, please keep in mind I'm not attacking how they make a living. I'm disagreeing with the system of not paying people a wage and instead having them rely on tips.
Go anywhere in the world and you'll see that the US is the only country in the world with this system.
