    Russillo: People I talk to, the Houston trade idea is something that would work better for 'Melo. Cleveland would like a buyout & add him to the group there. Houston's problem is the contracts they could send out are long term deals that we thought, prior to the THJ offer sheet, NY wasn't interested in. Anderson is owed a ton. Eric Gordon was terrific last year but Eric Gordon was terrific in Houston's system. When you bring in Eric Gordon to the Knicks, it's not the same Eric Gordon you saw with the Rockets with wide open shots all over the place.

    Mike Wise: In discussions with someone in the Knicks organization, they haven't heard anything from Melo, that he's willing to waive his NTC. It's only been media reports to them. Just like teams waiting for an offer sheet, they want to hear from Carmelo. I think much of this happens after they meet with David Griffin. I don't know if James Dolan is comfortable with Steve Mills making all these moves.
