Perhaps the very far right edge of the pic, behind the large ship?

Edit; Or it could be on the left side, ship is a darker color and blends in so I missed it on first look. I am hoping this upcoming show will go over the finer details of the photo.

You can't read the tail #?

    16020, on a Lockheed Electra.

    It's right there.

I agree with you. That boat is towing something, but I think I found bigfoot when taking a closer look.

I can't say I see this plane in the photo. But I think you're joking. That being said, this is what the bird looked like.

I'd try to have a laugh at the more cynical jokes in here. But if you really look into this: many eyewitness accounts over the years. Witnesses saw her plane crash down in the Marianas Islands, which were controlled by the Japanese. Saw her and Noonan taken away. Many others saw her in the prison on Saipan. A lot of their information coincides with the photo's location and such.

On the news yesterday the speculation was that the U.S. might not have wanted to put a death sentence on their spy(ies) in the Pacific who took the photo (and were conducting other work). Not to mention start a war over the capture of our famous Amelia Earhart. Tough to say.

Sorry for the repetition, but there are stamps in Saipan and the Marianas that pretty much take for granted accounts that never seemed to make it into our mainstream media.

Same ship is in the picture that is in the stamps -- picture in OP was 'top secret' in the archive.

Then, whose bones were found on the island with all the old camp fire sites and some items that seem to match items they would have had from the plane? I know those bones are gone (destroyed or lost) and were only examined once before that with a picture taken. Somebody royally f-ed that one up. We could have run DNA tests. Who else could it have been, though? You can't make jack out of that recent photo in this thread. I don't see how anyone could be sure of anything looking at that. Wishful thinking is more like it.

But... but Hollywood already made a biopic with Hillary Swank. Everybody knows once a movie is made about someone's life, it becomes true history.
