Right, and that's why I wouldn't want Westbrick on the Rockets no matter what kind of deal he was on. That said, I think Melo could shake that mentality and those bad habits so I'm all for it. If he will let CP3 and Harden set things up for him, he'll be really good.

Let's just agree to disagree on Westbrook (I think he'd cede some playmaking duties to Harden or CP3 if he came here).

Melo would get spoon-fed buckets by Harden and Paul. Both guys are cerebral and make a conscious effort to get their teammates touches. Pretty certain that Melo would get enough looks to keep him happy, enough so that he'd only break out the isos in case ot emergency (i.e. broken plays).

i was really hoping for a buyout so we could keep him.

paul, harden, melo, gordon, andersen....... is ALOT of firepower, and necessary for the likes of golden state

Tough shots and stupid shots aren't necessarily always hand in hand.

Thats only the only thing i can criticize him for. I would be less upset with him if he missed shots but seeing him lose all confidence and hesitate is what really dissapointed me.

If we dont get melo or a 3rd star then we will need cp3 to kick his ass when he does that again lol

I'm not one for building a roster with just one opponent in mind but RyNo did play well at GS

For the most part they are though, what makes them "tough" is the same things that make them stupid. While it's true that sometimes players have no choice but to chuck up shots like that, you want to minimize them because you'll die shooting them a lot more often than you make a living off of them.

Didn't Lebron meet with Wade when he told him he was going back to Cleveland?

Maybe that's why Carmelo went to meet with Lebron? To tell him he's choosing Houston over Cleveland.

Doesnt matter who he chooses if knicks dont buy him out.
Mhee waive trade clause for either. Its up to the knicks on who they prefer if its a trade.

Do you think he will get bought out?

Yes it does because he can veto a trade to where he doesnt want to go.
Knicks can send him where he wants, keep him or buy him out. If he has narrowed it to one team they can only trade him to that team.

Yes exactly. We all know this. Thats why in my post I stated that ge is willing to waive his no trade clause for Cleveland or Houston

Its already been confirmed he would accept a trade to either. So now it is knicks choice between the two if there is a trade.

Who is arguing that Melo isn't a great scorer...He just cant be the ball stopping cancer he was in NY here. Period. No question that Ryan had a terrible postseason output. But so did our best player, who played like a$$.

Anyways back to the topic at hand. I have zero issues with Melo being here. I just stated the obvious that he has to embrace the role of a spot up player in order for this to work. He was terrific in Team basketball... Ryan Anderson understood his role and failed to produce in the post season. But he had a lot to do with the Rockets' regular season success. To ignore it is to be a blind hater...

The goal isn't to beat the Spurs. It is to dethrone the Warriors...And it really truly requires self sacrifice by individual superstars and the ability to elevate each others games. If Melo is willing to embrace a role of spot up shooting, this may work.

And no one is "coming at you..." grow up.

Why would you think nothing is happening?
