fun fact, Brandon Bass and I used the same photographer for our weddings. The photographer was showing us pictures from other weddings and I was like, omg that's brandon bass! And he was like, yeah I think he's a famous athlete, hadn't heard of him before. I gave him a look and considered not using, but my fiancee overruled.

 

if Morey can pull this deal off without giving up a 1st, that would be amazing. If Morey can finagle a Euro stash, and/or a couple of 2nd rounders as compensation instead of a 1st rounder; that would be amazing.

I don't like trading the 2019 pick; i think it could be dangerous. But if i'm new york, i'm not trading melo and taking back 3-yr contracts unless I like the players and/or i'm getting draft picks.

Harkless is coming off his best season, but up until this year, he was considered a bust. Still 24, NY must see some potential. Not sure what his value is though.

Leonard to me is a full on bust. i wouldn't touch that contract to save my life. another couple years of double digit millions for a 7 footer who can't rebound, block shots, shoot, or defend? still, he's only 25; and bigs take longer to develop.

If i'm new york, i need a 1st round pick to do this deal. Can't believe they would tether themselves to that Leonard contract. Yuk!

you're right! good point. I'll bet that ******* finally does come over if it's new york city. he obviously cares more about the cities that he lives in rather than reaching his full potential as a basketball player. I don't really think he has that drive to reach the highest of highs. Some dudes like pau gasol, ricky rubio say they need to try out the nba because they have to know what its like to compete against the best in the world

CP3 and Melo are older, Rockets no longer have the depth they once had. CP3 can leave and Melo can opt out. Injuries can always happen as well.

Not to mention with the absurb contracts being thrown around to role-players it's invaluable to lock up a young player for four years at a million or two per year.

the more i think about how bad that Myles leonard contract is, the more i think maybe Portland is providing compensation to NY (like a 1st). converting harkless and leonard into anderson really helps them. Maybe Houston is providing lesser compensation to Portland (not new york) to balance it out (like a 2nd rounder).
