Has Chris Paul neutered Daryl Morey?

    Since signing CP, the following happened:

    1) The Rockets signed Paul's friend PJ Tucker, whom Paul recruited and persuaded to take a discount.

    2) The team has been in discussions for Paul's friend Melo, and has been "keeping the powder dry" for a Melo deal.

    3) Morey has had a lot of free time to go on TV and even did a long Bill Simmons podcast.​


    Is a part of the agreement for CP to take a discount (picking up player option) for the team that he gets to be the de facto President of Basketball Operations? Has CP neutered Morey?

    James Harden was the de-facto GM before CP3 arrived.

    morey remembered about the hard apron and realized if he makes any additional signings now, he's gonna be bored and without purpose rest of the year. so he's basically spreading out his last few dimebags to get thru till he makes it till next july to feel that rush again.

    People really underestimate the amount of influence on the decision making process that Les Alexander has. He will stay out of a lot of the smaller deals, but when it comes to deciding on larger targets, Les makes the calls..... not Morey or Paul or Harden, nor did Rudy T or Hakeem.

    Alexander wanted McHale and D'Antoni..... Alexander wanted the money spent last season (for good and bad).... Alexander approved of the deal for Harden and pushed for the signing of Howard and the trade for Paul.

    If Alexander didn't want to wait and see what happens with the TPE and Anthony, the Rockets would have already used it.

    Morey is very good at his job, but for good and bad, Alexander is very involved in what the team does and does not do.

    Yep. Thats what im always saying. Its pretty obvious.

    He deserves more credit/blame then he gets.

    Personally I think most of his moves lean towards receiving credit. I think he is a good owner
