Hustle doesn't override fundamentals. They work best in unison. In this case; head first in to home + make the third out of the inning + never even get to the base + take the bat out of a perpetually erupting volcano masquerading as a pineapple-haired first baseman. Oh, and if that's not enough, he ignored a Unicorn - a Pettis stop sign! That said, god willing he's ok and we never speak about this again. #OPPOSITEofCarlosHernandezPLEASE
everyone saying "correa didn't even get to the base".. He made a judgment based on the pitcher not paying attention. Everything was entirely hinging on how soon he looked up, how fast he let go of the ball, and how good the throw was. There's no way Correa could've said "Will I reach the base for sure?" -- because it's impossible to know. He took a calculated risk based on what he saw. If you disagree with it because of Yuli on deck, I totally get it. But I don't think you can look at the exact outcome and how close he was to the plate and judge it entirely. He was fairly close because all those things happened sooner than he hoped.
Wow you know you're going well when people are looking for something to complain about during an 8-0 game. Other than the poor slide attempt I'm sure Hinch has no problem with the aggressiveness shown there. Also everyone knows that just because there are hits this inning doesn't mean it was going to be the exact same thing last inning right? Hopefully Correa is fine.
