I just don't minutes for him cause MDA is gonna stagger CP3 and Hardens minutes for at least 1 of them at all time. Gordan is back up SG and tucker is probably Ariza backup
Read between the lines, people. READ BETWEEN THE LINES. 1. There is a reason why Morey says this both to Bill Simmons and to Jonathan Feigan right after the "Melo would waive no-trade for HOU or CLE" news came out. 2. It's interesting that Morey is VERY specific about signing only ONE minimum contract player-- not even TWO of these guys. The reason, I suspect, is the $125M hard cap, which applies when the Rockets used the MLE on Tucker (and Zhou Qi). The Rockets have $108M in guaranteed salary right now and want to keep the space under the hard cap for whatever creative maneuvering it may required if a substantial trade (for Melo or otherwise) materializes later on.
Rotation Guards Harden CP3 Gordon Rotation Forwards Ariza Tucker Anderson Rotation Centers Capela Nene Outside of a talent upgrade, it feels like we need one more contributor at each of these positions. At center, I think the plan is for Onuaku to step into Harrell's role. Sounds like the staff thinks he is ready. I still like Troy Williams. Good type of guy to have as a 4th forward....good drive and athleticism with a developing shot. The 4th guard is more difficult to fill, and I think, more critical. We need to be able to play this guy with confidence against GSW.
Yes, we're hard-capped, so he's gotta be very careful. Just one minor point wrt remaining flexibility: We don't actually know yet if he will use the MLE after the Moratorium ends and he signs Tucker. He can still do a SnT, leaving the MLE for Patterson. (Using either the NT MLE or a SnT trigger the hard cap.)
As does your comment.... What my comment says if you would read it: he has ties to the area and basketball runs in his blood. But please enlighten us more....
Troy Williams should be offered a modest 2 year, team option contract. He still has potential and could be a decent asset.
Bassy Mo? Wouldn't be bad to have some young legs on a veteran-laden team. I am guessing he'd head somewhere with a less established roster so he can get more minutes.
damn man, you are just full of wrong basketball opinions. Ellis over Tucker? Have you lost your mind? What is ellis going to do on a team with Chris Paul, Harden, and Gordon Ellis was also horrible last year
I'd love Pat on the Rockets. Hopefully he is an option, would round up our big man rotation very nicely.
Really? SERIOUSLY? Because T-Rob has had his shot now on what, what, half a dozen teams, and in every single one of them, he's sucked. Not just didn't live up to his potential, but S-U-C-K-E-D. He's one of those gifted athletes who didn't receive any gifts whatsoever when it came to intelligence. Don't keep thinking he'll one day hit his prime, because his prime was that season with Philly where he averaged about 9/8 over a couple dozen games. Will he suddenly come alive as a stretch 4 in MDA's system. Well, his ZERO lifetime 3-pointers in the NBA isn't a stat that lends itself to optimism in that regard. 0-for-6 from three would rank him dead LAST in career 3PT% for PFs. Pass. Without even considering.
