    hopefully

everything I'm seeing makes it seem like they want real assets in return...hopefully they come to their senses and realize that they won't be getting much from any team for Melo and it's time to cut their losses and move on

Lol Monday got everyone thinking crazy.

Next thing I'll see are posters talking themselves into trading Harden for Melo straight up

If Anderson were a free agent this summer, I would not be surprised if a team had offered 3 years $60 million to him.

Millsap got 3 years $90 million.

Ibaka got 3 years $65 million.

Andersons fair value is probably around 3 years $50 million...so you're talking about a $10 million difference. Throw in a 2020 protected 1st and you can probably get a deal done.

I have a very hard time taking anyone seriously that argues Anderson is some vastly overpaid player that doesn't contribute much on the court. He is among the biggest reasons for Harden's huge year and is clearly the best shooting big in the league. A team like Phoenix, Sacramento or Minnesota definitely would have overpaid to add him to their roster.

I can't help but think if we still had our first round pick next year we'd be close to pulling off this deal..if Morey had just been a tiny bit stingier with the LAC trade :(

Meh, hindsight is 20/20. Morey probably decided it was worth the risk of making Ryno harder to unload in order to seal the deal on CP3 quickly and move on. Morey is a great GM, so I am sure he had very good reasons. Besides, there are much worse problems than going into next season with an elite shooter at the 4 spot.

they may not agree, but i think trading anything more than anderson makes this team worse, not better. Gordon + Anderson is better than Carmelo

    Are you r****ded?

If Ryan Anderson makes guards so damn good, why wasnt Jrue Holiday atleast an allstar in NO? Or is it just that James Harden is just that good? Anderson couldn't hit the broad side of a barn the entire season at home. He was ice cold in Toyota Center all year & the playoffs.

His contract is an albatross deal. Nobody wants to touch it unless we give up either Ariza, Gordon, or a 1st with it.

NY is over the barrel due to Melo's NTC. They're going to have to take peanuts or get nothing. Just a question of whether they prefer our peanuts or Cleveland's.

Or if they prefer nothing over peanuts. People keep forgetting NYC can simply sit tight and let Melo go for nothing, which might be beneficial for them depending on what peanuts are being offered.

What a lot Gordan + Anderson for lee + melo

Melo is better then Anderson and Gordan

Lee isn't better then Gordan but he's a minor downgrade. I feel like we come out better but irfan fits better

Cleveland would be giving up Kevin Love and thats certainly NOT just peanuts. Its a matter of whether or not Cleveland wants to give up Kevin Love because he's literally the only player they could trade to make a deal work. If Cleveland doesn't want to give up Love then the Rockets are literally the only other trade partner because of Melo's no trade clause.

Losing Ariza is okay. We have Tucker to replace him.

Losing Gordon is not okay. We already lost Lou and Bev. Unless you can find someone as good as Gordon, we aren't good enough to challenge the Warriors even if we get Melo. I doubt that we can find a Gordon replacement if we trade for Melo. We don't have a lot of assets and cap room left.

Morey isn't trading Gordon. He's stated, even before Nene, that we had a solid group of 6 guys. Ryno will be gone way before Gordon.

He knows that Gordon, Tucker, Nene or Gordon, Ryno (if Tucker starts and Ariza plays the 3 or 4), Nene is a great bench.

Not to mention adding a Barbosa or another guy who can space floor and play the 4.
