Since you have issues with reading comprehension, let me spell this out for you. A superior (elite/great) specialized scorer will always be good enough to catapult you into elite status. Norwitzki, IT4, Irving, and Melo (yes, Melo) were all prime examples of this. Curry fits this bill to a lesser degree as well. If you have the ability to consistently put the ball into the basket no matter what the defense threw at you, you are elite... PERIOD.

I don't see the point of dumping him now. Who is out there on the FA market that we should be going after? Millsap's gone. Ibaka is gone. Morey needs to find a way to trade him for Melo.

- Since you have issues with reading comprehension, let me spell this out for you. Just specializing in scoring is NOT good enough to catapult you into elite status. Nowizki is an exception since he was extremely efficient. If you can average 25+ PPG on near 50-40-90 shooting split, then fine you are an elite player. But Melo is nowhere that efficient, hence he is not. IT4 & Irving are also not overall elite players. By elite, I mean superstars beyond All-star level. Curry is a pretty good play-maker; in no way he is limited just to scoring (and even if he was, he would also be an exception due to his supreme efficiency)

It's one thing to sign Melo to a relatively cheap contract if he gets a buyout. It's another thing to give up assets to trade for him with his large contract. I don't want to trade for Melo unless Anderson is included in the outbound contracts.

The only way we can get him via trade is Anderson + Ariza/Ego. That's why most have given up hope in getting him this year.
