PJ Tucker is the backup power forward. And the backup small forward.... that's what makes him valuable, his versatility defensively.

Yeah but he's not really a true PF. We still need a back up PF in my opinion

Is backup point guard really a big priority? I mean, we need another guard in case of injury, but when Paul sits, Harden will be the point guard. Pretty sure Tucker can fill in at guard as needed.

I'm with you I think we have the best 3 guard rotation. And honestly I can see us going small and having all 3 on the court sometimes. I want a athletic 4 who hustles, a Harrell replacement

TBH I love our guard trio but I think we need a capable and competent 4th guard whether it be a PG or another 2/3 guy like Nick Young.... reason being is I saw the toll it took on Harden and Eric after the all star break..... Eric looked spent and maybe it was because of his previous injury history, as he's probably never played that many game in a season but it really effected his shot.... maybe a young guy like L.J. Peak makes the roster as a defensive guard but it needs to be someone tho...

George Hill discussing a 1 year deal with the Lakers. Would be a nice get at the MLE. Another defensive guy.

Most of the names thrown around here are unrealistic (for the BAE), because 1.) money and 2.) role.

As of now the rotation projects to be:

    Capela Nene
    Anderson Tucker
    Ariza Tucker
    Harden Gordon
    Paul Gordon

There really aren't any more minutes for another wing. Most of the guys mentioned are looking for both more money and (more) guaranteed playing time.
The most pressing need is another 4 that won't complain about not playing every night, yet doesn't totally kill you, if one of Anderson, Tucker or Ariza goes down for a while.
Think Anthony Tolliver, though he too appears to have better opportunities and like any BAE/MLE (if S&T for Tucker gets done) target would have to prioritize fit, etc.
Similar situation at the 1 and 5, but probably for the minimum.

Mo Speights - Good three point shooter and great rebounder. Not a good defender. Can play backup PF or C, which is important should either Anderson or Nene go down with injury.

Alan Williams - This guys carves up space around the hoop. One of the best rebounders in the league. Probably as wide as he is tall. Would benefit greatly off of passes from our playmakers. All hustle on defense. As third string C we could live with how foul prone he is. Gets gassed, poor stamina. Good center insurance, IMO.
