Wow. I'm sure it must've been a great privilege to play with the supreme greatness of JR Smith, Kenyon Martin & the never sober Ty Lawson lol. Chauncey Billups & AI were both well past their respective primes in Denver. Finest coaches? Kenyon Martin did a interview a few weeks back and said nobody in that locker-room respected George Karl in Denver. Nobody believe in his system, and he was very anti-social with his players. That team was the epitome of DYSFUNCTIONAL. As far as Melo, he averaged 28pts and 6rebs. his last year in Denver. If say Jeremy Lin averaged 28pts & 6 assist, he'd be considered one of the best players in the league. Is these not elite numbers? Guys like you simply don't personally like Melo, so you keep moving the goal post when criticizing him. His overrall talent speaks for itself

I think at that point moving Ariza and Gordon plus whoever is at the end of the bench might make it work. Move whoever you can other then the 'stars' and try to build a bench around that. Hopefully you can keep Capela in that scenario though

They lost to the Lakers, who had the most talented team in basketball.

The key question might be : Will Melo break the wall (Draymond Green) ? Blake Griffin and LMA weren't able to do that.

LOL, that's way better than what Harden had in 14-15 with Dwight missing half the season. We won 56 games that year and went to the WCF, with Harden finishing 2nd in MVP voting. Get a clue man.

You do know that George Karl was a genuine POS, right?

At this point the Knicks are looking for young players who can complement KP so we need to get a third team involved and to that point no one is giving us any assets for Anderson hence sadly Eric Gordon might be HAVE TO BE INCLUDED in any deal to get a player in a 3 team trade to satisfy the Knicks. It is what it is.

Last year Olympic Melo shot 38% from the field, because he's not driving to the basket anymore and he had only 94 field goals made at the rim last season in the NBA, comparing to Harden 299. He's gonna be just a more talented Anderson upgrade and anything more than that is a blessing

The primary backup to Ariza at SF will be a three guard lineup with Ego, Harden and Paul....

We played over 24 mpg with 3-guards last year, once we dropped Brewer....and that's not going to change much with the addition of a HOF point guard....especially in the playoffs. That 3-guard lineup might go down to like 18 mpg but that still makes it top backup to Ariza at the SF position.

I'm specifically talking about 3 guards not counting Tucker.

I just looked up Win Share stats during Carmelo's Denver days, and he wasn't even the leader of his team for most of the seasons. Billups, Iverson, Camby, even Nene contributed more wins than Carmelo back then. At least lead your team in win contributions and then complain about your teammates, wouldn't you think?

La La Anthony, Carmelo Anthony's estranged wife, said in an interview on Bravo TV that Anthony leaving the Knicks is a "real possibility." "We'll see what happens," La La Anthony said in an interview that aired Sunday night. "….My hope is that he ends up somewhere where he's happy and he can win because he's such an incredible player and he deserves to win." Anthony is open to waiving his no-trade clause to head to Houston or Cleveland, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

LerBon can turn him from "LOL Loser" to "NBA Champion".

I still think there are teams waiting on free agency to settle down that will have significant interest in Ryno depending on what the DONT get done in FA.

Utah is one team in particular that I'm looking at after Gordon Hayward resigns (assuming he does). If he agrees to resign but they do the three way Ryno trade, they can trade him and use Haywards bird rights to sign over. He makes a ton on sense for that team if they want spacing and balance with Rubio running their team now... they actually need Ryno to help them.

There are other teams too but that's just one example. The Rockets are smart to sit tight and not go do something stupid like offer Capela in a deal for Melo. I'm going to say something unpopular here but I honestly think that Capela had more value for this team than Melo would in his role.

No. It's not a given. The Knicks historically are a badly ran franchise. They generally overpay for old, bad, injury prone players & hire VERY bad ppl to be general managers & coach their teams. They are dysfunctional, as seen with Phil Jackson recently trying to trade Porzingis (the same Phil who hired Derek Fisher as coach smh). Porzingis? This was a real possibility they were going to do. There is nothing ANY player could do to change the Knicks around. No matter how much you want it to be, it's not on Carmelo

He'll have some time in those 3-guard sets, certainly, but I think Gordon gets a lot of his time from the cumulative 24 minutes that Chris and James will sit.

Anyway, my main point: I don't think swapping Ryno for Carmelo changes the complexion of anyone's role all that significantly. Perhaps Ryno's 29-30 minutes goes up to 33-34 if it's Carmelo, but it's not like there's any real correlation between the need for Tucker and whichever of Ryno/Carmelo is your starting PF.
