Melo or bust. Biggest challenge in my opinion will be length and height. We have little to no way to disrupt the Warriors shooting even if we have all the firepower. True of Anthony. True of Love too. But at this point, do what is necessary to improve and either player does that.

Millsap's contract is pretty good. Only 2 years with a team option. Next year if he isn't good it can be a huge expiring.
Millsap wouldn't take a huge discount anyway.

NYC can't just trade him anywhere.... He is only going to waive his clause for Houston or Cleveland.

Sooo, NYC and Rockets have to find a third team to take on Anderson's contacts.. but that seems to be a snag in the first place.

You don't have to tell me, I'm a believer. It's the Charles Barkley's of the world who don't. Having a player with a strong gravity has a real impact on the helping strategies a team can employ to defend. That's huge when you got a guy who can get to the hoop like Harden.

this is a high percentage thread, both in terms of participation level but also entertainment value. Plus you never know whether Milsap will get locked in a house somewhere. It ain't over til it's over.

The Nuggets need to clear cap space after getting Millsap. I wonder if they would consider a sign and trade for Gallinari that included the Rockets non-guaranteed guys?

Jokić and MIllsap are both great 2-way players. Denver will be very strong. They need one additional star player to be serious contender.

LeBron is every bit Chris Paul's equal on defense. Remember his game saving block on Iguodala in last year's finals? That said, the Rockets do have a better collection of perimeter defenders than the Cavs.

If you play both Harden and Love against the Warriors best lineup, there's nobody Capela can guard. You have CP3 on Curry, Ariza on KD, Love on Green, Harden on Iguodala, and you would likely play Tucker on Klay, unless you want Thompson to shoot over Eric Gordon since he's three to four inches taller.

They'll play Iguodala, Green and Thompson on CP3, Love, and Harden. Curry on Gordon and Durant on Ariza. They wouldn't be at a matchup disadvantage.

Against most teams, you can get away with two defensive liabilities. Not a team with the offensive firepower of Golden State. The Cavs won a title playing two poor defenders when Harrison Barnes was a Warrior and not Kevin Durant. Barnes was someone they could hide a Kevin Love or Irving on, KD took that away. As for the Spurs, they have a great team defensive system, and Aldridge is not a bad defender. Parker is the only real liability they have.

I absolutely think teams can come up with a better plan than Cleveland. But it starts by having a small ball lineup that can score and more importantly, defend the Warriors small ball lineup. Kevin Love doesn't fit well in such a lineup. The Rockets best lineups against the Warriors small ball attack right now are CP3-Harden-Ariza-Tucker-Capela(Harden guards iguodala in this group, with Capela on Draymond) or CP3-Gordon-Harden-Ariza-Tucker (Harden guards Draymond, Gordon on Iguodala, and the others on the big 3).
