That last point was reported, she didn't mention Houston from what I've seen.

For people who are saying melo or bust, we just acquired one of the best pg in the NBA, we now have two superstars and I can definitely seeing us going to the wcf and anything is possible.

Teams that have a hole at the PF spot -
    - Atlanta - just lost their starter but maybe they are heading for a rebuild anyway?
    - Boston - no decent PF on the roster, but Anderson doesn't seem like their type of player and they are certainly holding cap space out for a real star.
    - Memphis- depends on where Zach Randolph is going. Anderson also doesn't fit the "grit and grind" Griz.
    - Miami - just have McRoberts - plus the spacing would help Whiteside and Dragic - also doesn't seem like a heat type of player
    - OKC- don't think they have anything to trade with
    - Phoenix - depends on what they think of Criss/Bender. Also seems like they are no longer fooling themselves into thinking they are in win now mode which is the only mode where Anderson makes sense.
    - Kings - also probably don't need Anderson since they aren't in win now mode.

...so ya, the market is pretty thin for him. I could see him being a good fit on the Twolves who need spacing but he is definitely not a Thibs type of player.

Brooklyn is also a viable destination IMO.

I would love to have Patterson on this team I wonder if we can do a sign and trade with our tpe for him with Toronto?

They are over the cap anyways so it would really just benefit us I doubt they want To fork over 8-12m a year for him but i would especially if we can get melo for Anderson and a 1sr round pick hell I would give up Anderson and 2 first round picks. Protected obviously but still I would.

    Cp3/Gordon
    Harden/Gordon
    Ariza/tucker
    Melo/Paterson
    Capela/nene

That is a very good offensive and defensive team.

Could be top 5 in both categories.

    Cmon Morey make it happen.

Up the risk factor and attach 2 first round picks (top 10 protected) with Anderson for melo.

Get Patterson in s&t and let's go wax the Warriors at their own game.

we need a guy like Melo

yes, the team we have right now is nice, but Melo would elevate us to an even higher level

Ryno is useless at home and sucked in the playoffs...replacing him with Melo would be a huge win

Enjoy each day and game for what it is. This is gonna be great and we do have hope.

If you dont think they are worth watching because GSW is flexing then thats fine but thats a pretty dumb/defeatist mindset.

No matter what you do, you are gonna die in the end. You can stretch your same mindset to "doesnt matter, still not gonna get out alive"

Someone can be like "i just beat cancer!" and you can be like "doesnt matter, still gonna die eventually"

Take it a game at a time and enjoy each victory for what it is. I enjoy any rockets victory.

You can stretch that linkin park "in the end it doesnt matter" mindset as long as you want but its dumb. Go jam hybrid theory lol.

If GSW scares you so much that it prevents you from enjoying the moment then im sorry bro.

That's true but we would most certainly have to take back Mozgov in that deal and he is completely useless to us. As crappy as Anderson's contract is here is the silver lining:
    - offensively he is still a useful player in this system in the right matchups
    - the damage is done this season - all the big name targets we would want are off the market. If Houston had $20 mil and Anderson was a FA, we would probably be looking at him now.
    - he was a part of our team becoming an offensive juggernaut last year - one that got the attention of Chris Paul. Not sure if Paul would be here if we were just another decent but not great offensive team.

....lots of people talking Melo but even if we were without Anderson's contract, we wouldn't have anything to trade with the Knicks anyway and honestly, it's a better scenario for Houston if Melo gets bought out, gives us a sweetheart deal like Josh Smith and we keep Anderson AND Melo.

everyone wants a championship. my point is that the alternative to getting melo isn't to "bust"

We still have a chance and are still gonna have a great season if we don't get Melo. There is more to sports than just winning the championship. You try as hard as you can for the championship but it's about the journey not the destination.

I'm gonna have a hell of a time following the journey next year. Most successful people fall in love with the process and journey. The destination is a by product of all of that.

No doubt that it is all tied into the same goal but the journey is what we watch and is what inspires us. 3 weeks after the championship is over you look back at the journey and miss all the battles.

John Frusciante used to always say he was in love with the process of completing an album but once the album was over it was an accomplished feeling but also a sad nostalgic feeling because your adventure is over. I'm sure past champions probably rewatch their journey and get nostalgic about it wishing they were in the moment again.

I'm gonna watch every game next season and enjoy every single W we get. I'm the type who does find value in Ws on a random monday night in february.

Take it one game at a time, live in the moment, enjoy our team's abition, and hopefully it culminates in a championship for houston :)

Hahaha - ya, I would say he has probably still got a little left in the tank to say the least. If he could play the 4 for us similar to how he did for Team USA, I would say he could unlock a chance for us against Golden State. Even if he is Ryan Anderson defensively(I don't think he is THAT bad), he is still a much more dynamic offensive player than Anderson.

to expound on this, each game isn't just a means to an end. Each game has intrinsic value in and of itself. Every game is unique and should be enjoyed for what it is. Each game has different experiences, circumstances, and moments.

I have a ton of rockets memories that I hold close to myself as a rockets fan. A perfect example of the concept I'm talking about would be T-Mac's 13 in 35. Yeah it was a regular season game and they didn't win the chip that year but damn that was special. I don't think anybody forgets that night.

Preach. So much loser mentality on this board masquerading as being realistic. Yeah right. Visiting other boards, I've never seen less disgust shown towards our team than this offseason, people are praising these moves far more than you would expect.

Winning makes everything look peachy. I still maintain if you switch coaching staffs in the Finals, the Cavs have a tremendous chance of repeating. It was a garbage coaching job by Lue to have the Cavaliers enter the playoffs as 21st worst defense, to have Kyrie iso'ing non-stop, to have Love spotting up without motion, etc. That's the NBA. Teams have good days and bad days, good weeks and bad weeks, chemistry peaks and weakens, people get injured, team cohesion can come regularly overcomes talent, referees make stupid calls, fatigue sets in, entirely new offensive and defensive ideas are born out of desperation, mediocre players turn their career around, great players dip, and I can go on for pages.

James Harden and Chris Paul have made miracles in the NBA, carrying poor supporting casts to home court in THE WEST. These two sought each other out, and are on the same team. We have the same starting line up as last season except Chris Paul is replacing Bev's 55-win team, and we still have Gordon/Nene and now PJ Tucker to spell Ariza and Anderson.

With this alone, we have ascended to 2nd best team. To say that replacing Anderson with a more deadly scorer doesn't bring us close to the Warriors is just ridiculous. The Spurs looked fantastic for the half game Kawhi played against them and they would have been more competitive than Lebron and his stars. System matters, coaching matters.

We're in it to win it. We just need one more fighter on this team, the kind of person who laughs at odds. Someone like Artest when he joined the Rockets would be ideal, but given we have an offensive genius as coach and 2 offensive masterminds at PG, I bet we could do a lot even with Melo. Have faith.
