We won't know for sure until the team faces some adversity. Once they go on a losing streak and play some poor games against teams they "should beat" then we will see how well it all holds together.

If they can work through that, then I think they'll be solid.

As great as harden was there were times where he had lapses in judgement and effort. The hope is that Paul can get him to push through those times and be even better.

Just because he was good last year doesn't mean he can't be even better. Harden playing even better than last year is a good thing.

Last second play and Jordan thought the game was over bc the shot clock went off. He basically stopped playing even though the game wasn't over.

^ any other player with IQ would yell at Jordan for that...dude just went brainless for a sec there.

hopefully clint gets smarter, stronger, more confident this year. i expect Nene to put him in check.

It sounds like CP3 will indeed teach Harden how to have heart after all.

Every player has lapses in effort. Lebron played abhorrent defense last year, nearly all year long. By years end, no one saying a damn thing about that. Every player has those days, but we here don't watch 82 cavs or wars games to criticize those guys.

What makes you think he doesn't have heart already, Mavs loyalist? Do you think that you have to win a championship to have "heart"? Everybody has bad games and misses shots. I don't get this "no heart" garbage.

Of course you don't have to win a championship to have heart. Why would I think CP3 has heart if he hasn't won a ring then? Lots of players have heart that didn't win championships just like T-Mac.

If you have heart, you won't quit on your team in an elimination game at home against a team without their best player. Do you agree or disagree?

Asking Harden, at this stage of his ego/status/career, to follow CP's lead could turn out to be a disaster. It could also mesh beautifully, allow both guys to breathe and play real defense, and extend their careers. The offensive schemes are somewhat under D'Antoni's control. The personality issues are not.

Ok so your argument is that Harden has peaked? Or that a great player like Paul can't help him get better?

What you're saying doesn't make any sense.

As good as he is there are areas he can improve. The hope is that Paul can help him both on the court physically and mentally when it comes to upping his game in key situations as far as effort and judgement.

There is no argument against that. What are you even saying?

He had a bad game. He had been sick for a good part of that series. It's just something that happened, something to learn from. What does any of that have to do with heart? He just didn't have the mojo he needed to get by Pop.

even a lebron led rockets wouldnt have gone further last year

We didnt win the ring last year because we only had 1 harden while the spurs, cavs, and gsw have multiple stars

What does that have to do with anything?

I am curious to see how it will all work out. Harden is better with the ball in his hand to create. How does that mesh with Paul's game? We have a coach of the year to try and figure that out. I'm not sure how to make it work, but that doesn't mean it can't be done. If it does work, then the payoff could be huge.

CP needs to bring more free agents to the Rockets. PJ Tucker is fine and all, but we need more. Chris Paul the Recruiter needs to work harder.

I've had the pleasure to have met DeAndre before and talked to him for about 35-45 minutes. Definitely not a bright guy.

Of course you don't have to win a chip to have heart.

But using tmac as an example of a player with Heart is ironic.

Guy quit on the rockets didn't he? Said he needed micro fracture surgery which was false he hasnt even talked to the Rockets medical staff.

I mean I know ppl talk about how great his playoff numbers were and that's cool and all but if your so great you got to win atleast one playoff series don't you?

I mean he's blown 3-1 series lead in Orlando he's lost series in houston were he was ahead 3-2 he's lost some game 7.

If your so great and have heart you gotta pull out atleast one.

    Tmac is a choker dude.

And I like tmac still got his jersey and love that he still supports the franchise.

But he is not some guy you use as an example of heart and playoffs in the same sentence.

Harden for all his faults is way more accomplished in playoffs basketball than tmac.
