Is Gallo a younger Anderson?

 

Just re-sign Nene and call it a day. I doubt we get Melo or Milsap. We just have to live with Anderson till the trade deadline comes around in Feb. and then go from there.

 

If the team will ultimately be hard-capped, and if the Millsap S&T would presumably be increasing (not decreasing) the Rockets' total team salary, what difference does the order of operations make there?

I thought being hard capped may have affected the salary percentage one can take back in trades. Guess not, my bad.

 

Yeah but there are no contenders with cap space in the first place aside for Boston...also, rumors were saying that he wasn't getting a max anyway and everybody assumed he was going to sign for a 25x starting salary, if that's still correct yeah, i would take him with no esitation, that's just 5M more than Anderson and well worth it.

Also yes, he's 32, but he came in the nba pretty late (i think he was 23) and he played as a bench guy for at least 2/3 years in Utah so, he doesn't have a lot of minutes on his legs all things considered, i think he should be able to play at this best for at least 2/3 years :/

Hahaha!!! Yeah, I'm talking myself into this as a thing.

Again, this is PURE SPECULATION. I have heard NOTHING about this actually happening.

The key issue(s) are:
(1) Will a third team take Anderson without the Rockets needing to throw in (much) additional compensation?
(2) Is Atlanta willing to play ball on a S&T (and if so, how much do they really want/need in order to do so)?
(3) How high a starting salary will Millsap demand if he can truly contend for a title? Would he take a few million less?

 

If Millsap is acquired via a sign and trade to we get his bird rights?

It feels like Millsap is using Denver's offer as a talking point. Minny is out. Phoenix is out. Sac is still Leverage City. We don't know what Denver is offering, but they have to consider their salary structure in the coming years for Jokic, Harris, Murray etc.

The thing with Milsap is that we've heard literally nothing tying him to the Rockets. Codman may be hinting to him is his latest posts.

That said, I'd be surprised if the Rockets weren't interested.

 

Well, the Chris Paul deal came out of the blue too, at least as far as I'm concerned.

 

I know i shouldn't say this but it also seems strange that he didn't sign with Denver yet if they're the only team after him...

 

There's a reason Millsap has yet to sign with Denver

 

The rumors of Paul wanting to come here was there though. Millsap and his camp has been quiet or nonexistent regarding Houston as a destination.

If we find get Millsap this would be a move of ninja-esque levels

 

Not really. We'd been tied to Paul for a while. Even had a friend who doesn't watch much basketball txt me 4 or 5 days before asking if I thought we could get Paul.

Anyways having rumors abound isn't a prerequisite for this to happen. Just interesting that we aren't being mentioned.
