Forget Gasol put Nene in there, and yes we are a top three team

It's not number one though With Melo!

Looks like the only way we can get Carmelo Anthony now is if there is a buyout. That would be the best way to get him.

Yeah I ninja edited that. It's really gonna be tough to get any of these guys now that the Rockets are hard capped

Not if he said it, I want to see it on Sportscenter. This would be a really good time for him to speak up.

Actually we could trade for him. I don't think NYK will waive him. If they were going to do that, Phil Jackson may still be there haha.

It is a race between CLE and us on who can move the overpaid, 3-shooting white PF on a long contract (i.e., Love or Anderson) to a third team to facilitate the move to get Melo to CLE/HOU. Assuming he moves at all.

Can we not trade Gordon with Anderson for Melo and cash to round out the bench?

We can, but gordon is a solid defender and a great shooter. Look at how much a much older reddick just got paid and he is terrible on defense.

Also, the knicks have lee so they would probably swap him out in the trade as well.

I think it is very important to hold on to Eric Gordon.

Really would be nice to have a Paul, Harden, Gordon, Melo, Capela lineup.

4 guys who can fill it up in a hurry.

Lots of offense late in games, and all of those guys are competitive in crunch time to get stops.

As much flack as melo gets defensively, I have seen him D up when it counts plenty of times.

This a 3 yr experiment to me. If they can get melo, get melo. You might have to add Capela or Ariza to do it with Anderson, so be it. If the Rox have Paul, Harden, and Melo for the next 3 years, that's a championship quality team no matter who else you have. If they can keep Gordon, that would be a extra bonus.

Gordon is also one fall away from injury...

I would give my left nut for Melo at this point. We have harden/CP3 in there prime and I don't want to waste it. Harden & CP3 can easily leave and everything we built will have been a waste.

I want to see the rockets beat the cavs and playing it save with role players is gonna be a 2nd round exit probably

In today's NBA, I guess not. Though I think we are about to see a lot of buyer's remorse on contract sizes in the next couple of years, as the bad deals that went out last yr and this year catch up -- we are already starting to see it. Deals that looked reasonable under the new cap...turns out, eh, not so much.

Love's contract is still a lot of years and eats up a lot of cap space, just like Ryno's, and he's really just a rich man's Ryno lol.

I guess the real question becomes at this point, how good does Carmelo play against Kevin Durant and Draymond Green? If he plays well against those two then he is worth it. Right now we have Chris Paul on Stephen Curry and James Harden on Klay Thompson. Those matchups are fair. I would pick Chris Paul to be the primary playmaker given the matchups.

Against the Spurs he would help if he can exploit someone like Danny Green. They could never use Kawai Leonard to guard James Harden if he abuses Danny Green.

Dude I live with a spurs and mavs fan. You don't understand how loud this household gets during the season. My roommate has witnessed San Antonio win 4 championships. I want that while we have harden&CP3

Sounds to me you need to increase your risk profile and get better roommates.

Yeah, but this is still interesting. Our nonguaranteed contracts would have to go to Toronto & then Cory Joseph along with maybe Lucas Nogueira & Bruno Caboclo, & Ryan Anderson to the Knicks, Carmelo to the Rockets. Might have to mix in a draft pick from us to New York.

New York gets a few good prospects & a draft pick.

Toronto gets 11 million in savings.

    We get our 3rd star.
