actually, still no evidence of anything from ESPN, and OP has apparently fled the country. so 10+ pages on rank speculation and wishful thinking.

    @BimaThug

The Tucker and Qi signings are not official until the moratorium is over right? Can't Rockets just do a S&T before they officially sign those players? Manipulating the order to stop us from being in lux tax before the trade?

This taj gibson signing has left only the nuggets, hawks, and dark horses left.

I really don't think Millsap gets his max that he is seeking, not even from Atl.

He is gonna be the big fish out of water.... rockets eat non fresh fish? I hope so. $22-$25 million. Getter done Morey.

If Millsap signs with Denver, they will be competitive. He won't get his cake and eat it too, but it might be the best offer he can get.

between my brother and I, I pegged Anderson to be the most important player on the Rockets team in the playoffs until the Nene got hurt.

Say goodbye to Anderson, and hello to Melo and Nene!

Milsap is going to Denver, like Iggy this is likely to be the last big contracts these guys get, so he's gonna get paid.

...I don't get the Denver thing. Seems like they have way too many 3/4 guys on the roster already. Millsap is good, but I don't think the team wins that many more games with him over their current PF rotation.

That being said, I think Millsap would be a game changer for Houston. He's essentially a poor man's Draymond Green and that's huge when teams force the ball out of your playmakers hands and require a big to make a quick read to pass or make an offensive move. In Denver, he won't be able to realize that because of the quality of playmakers there.

Whether S&T or Non-Taxpayer MLE, the Rockets would be hard-capped either way.

Millsap is still hypothetically possible. I'm just not holding my breath.

No I mean can't Houston do a S&T for Milsap (hypothetically), before they sign Tucker/Qi with the MLE? Since they aren't official signings Morey could do them in whatever order he pleases correct? Before we get hard capped for using our MLE.

Yeah, it's not happening unfortunately, maybe we don't want him to be able to get Lebron next season or maybe the Hawks just don't want Anderson brick contract back...

Thought about this angle (not LeBron) but as much as he'd help now, not sure they'd be able to move his contract next summer if they wanted to (without attaching an asset(s) and maybe not even then so...) Could have another Anderson situation ... if you were so fortunate to move Anderson now to sign Millsap.

Yeah but i think you would be able to move Millsap easily unless you max him, teams would want to have him, Anderson on the other hand, welp...i don't know how we'll eventually move him next summer, probably 2019 pick and a young player...ugh...

We need Milsap to go to nuggets so Sacramento becomes desperate for Ryno Contract

I don't think the order matters. It's a finite bucket that can only fit so much salary regardless of which comes first. If you use the MLE before or after you're hard capped either way

Who would ever be desperate enough for that horrible contract. If you don't have a 3 point agenda Anderson is useless and turns out even if you do he's also useless in the playoffs

    Would you?

He went from a player who was a 'lock' for a max contract to now having to settle for something less (unless Denver gives him it).

His market wasn't exactly lined up with suitors or contenders for that matter. Did his own team Atlanta even want him back?

So his suitors were. . .
    the rebuilding Kings?
the rebuilding Suns (who then decided not)
    the rebuilding/on-the-up Wolves(who decided not)
the rebuilding/on-the-up Nuggets(only known remaing suitor)

and he'll be a year older (33) next year.
