what love has to do with the Rockets? Since when we were in talks or discussions or credible rumours to trade for him? We have nothing to do with Kevin Love because we have no assets to trade for him.
Melo : + great clutch player + great chemistry with CP3 + off the dribble - bad defense - issues with Mike D'Antoni Kevin Love : + 3 point shooting + rebounds - defense (better than Melo but still problem) - he can choke in playoffs
Cleveland wants Melo. Houston wants love. NY wants to get rid of Melo. Houston wants to get rid of Ryan Anderson. NY gets Anderson, Capela and a 1st rounder from Cleveland. Houston and Cleveland both get their guy.
yeah Gilbert wants an older player who is more expensive and about to make their lux tax problems worse? Or they want Melo in a buyout ? Hm...
Codman is reliable but doesn't mean whatever he says comes true or has even much probabillity to happen. Same when he said that Griffin maybe was coming to Houston and liked playing with CP3, I don't believe that or this one.
Has it been confirmed that Giblert is the guy at NY? NY would be getting Capela and an extra 1st for taking on Ryan Anderson. They can't be asking much for Carmelo with the media disaster it has been. Codman only said there were discussions. He didn't say it was definitely going to happen or that NY or Cleveland was very interested.
no Gibert is the owner of the Cavs who fired the GM, was involved in the George trade that fell through and makes the decisions right now since Lebron doesn't care anymore. NY would be all over this trade, but Gibert wouldn't. And why should he, since Melo is a potential buyout candidate if they wait for 3-4 months, and his trade value is MUCH less than Love.
My bad. I saw Gilbert and thought Griffin. Cleveland's motivation is what Lebron wants, Lebron gets. Right now, NY is playing hardball about the buyout and Melo reportedly has other suitors (i.e. Houston). Cleveland can always try to restructure since he will be ring chasing. It has also been reported that Cleveland is trying to get out of Love's contract. This proposed deal helps them accomplish that as well
Morey needs to run away from that deal. Kevin Love is NOT a difference maker against the Warriors, as their small ball lineup makes him virtually unplayable. Giving up Capela for him would be a huge mistake.
Morey in D'antoni's offense is nothing like what we have seen in Cleveland. If you want to base it on their current play in a different system, Carmelo is worse.
It has nothing to do with D'Antoni's offense. Kevin Love can't guard anyone on Golden State when the Warriors go small. He's too slow to check Draymond and a bad matchup against Iguodala too. At least Melo has the quickness and frame to guard Draymond if engaged defensively. Ryan Anderson has the same physical limitations. Kevin Love is the rich man's Anderson, and is a terrible fit against the Warriors.
An in-his-prime Kevin Love vs a 5 years past his prime Melo? K-Love in his prime every day. All day. How is this even a discussion after what we went through with our last aging wing player who USED to be a superstar...
thanx craguin. I hope it's true and I don't doubt cod's sincerity and reliability but this rumour that comes from that source seems too far fetched. Plenty of teams want Love like the Suns or Denver who almost traded for him. They just don't want to trade top 4 picks for him. His trade value is far beyond Melo's.
