Perhaps, but we're not worrying about the Suns, or only interested in Tucker's play in playoffs though it is important once we get there. I'd suggest that since most folks' biggest concerns is his age, how he played last year is probably more important than how he played in the playoffs two years ago.
Thanks... this is much more helpful, especially since I don't see as any TOR games. Certainly shows Tucker's grittiness, especially grabbing tough rebounds. Again, I wanted them to sign Tucker, who has impressed me as a Harden defender. Would also love seeing us get Ibaka... heck, and Josephs if I am putting aside all reality.
How do you not love This? We have two of the best wing defenders in the league now. Find a big whose only job is to defend the rim and let's go.
This is a huge signing for the price Tucker is a hustler and you cant have too many of those. This also helps against teams like GS who have two wing threats. I mean you have Paul on Steph now and Ariza on KD with Tucker on Klay. Morey is designing a team to beat the Warriors. I like Tucker and felt Toronto got a steal when they traded for him last year. Its amazing to see him sign for less here if reports are true about the 3 year vs 4 year deal that was offered. As for reports about the team now becoming "old" thats not a huge deal IMO. You get a bunch of guys who are hungry to win and good things will happen. Clint and well I guess Onauku and now Qi will learn a ton from the guys around them. It would be great if everyone on the team was 3 years young no doubt but its not like these guys are on their last legs. It will be interesting to see what else is in store for the team from here on out. Another trade has to be in the works with Kelly's contract becoming GTD next week
Now this is a move i like, good role player, very good defender, can shoot, can guard 3/4 positions, brings energy and toughness. cyberx said we were already after him the last year. The contract is ok too, i like this move. If we can deal him with the NG contracts wow, that would be amazing.
Really like Tucker's game at this price. Solid defender though certainly not a shut down guy. Hard nosed and smart, probably similar to ariza in that sense but stronger. In the offense he's basically a threes, rim and free throws player that doesn't try to get creative with the ball. That's a good thing. This is a much better fit than shump. Tucker can switch across guards and forwards though better against forwards
Needed to get tough players as the CP deal requires no less. 3 and D is the name of game for this team. BTW, avg will get better when the 2 guards force defense to switch and the 3s are non contested ones. Defense is needed and really guys, you think a MLE will get a superstar? Only way to get 3rd star was via trade. You can't use MLE in a trade. If a 3rd "superstar" is coming it is via trade. If Camelo is bought out he probably ends up in Cleveland.
i don't like it. we already have gordon and ryan. This is only another contract we're going to have to shed for when lebron becomes a free agent.
Well he could be a replacement for either. Say we trade ego+NGs for melo he replaces ego on the depth chart. He could also replace Ryan on the depth chart if we do a SnT for millsap with ryan+NGs+2nds
Oh. Didn't really get that as far as role. Pj isn't a 6th man. And he's not a true stretch 4. He's a defensive wing off the bench on a winning team. Ideally your 7-8 man
I don't like the signing but he can win me over with his play as I don't know much about him other than he would piss harden off enough for harden to just go off on his team and we would win, but whatever we'll see.
I think he should start in certain match-ups like the Warriors. CP3 on Curry, Ariza on Durant and Tucker on Green. We preferably need more defensive minded PF, like Millsap so we can at least match up with 4 tough defenders on 4 tough to guard players or PREFERABLY Harden starts to play better defense.
This will absolutely not affect that. Even in the unlikely chance that the Rockets can lure Lebron, both Paul and Ariza come off the books after this season. So the Rockets could sign Lebron and then use Paul and Ariza's Bird rights to go over the cap if needed.
I think some people just think we're using cap space to sign the Tuckers instead of the Millsaps/Ibakas lol, that's probably why they don't like this.
I think it's more just depth in case you have an opportunity to upgrade the talent level on the starting lineup. He's better served as the 7-8th guy off the bench but if we lose either ego or Ryan for a pf replacement, he stays the 7-8th guy. Especially if you move ryno, but he may be the 6-7th guy if it's ego that is moved. All hypothetical of course
It will be nice to run Tucker at the 4 in stretches. Let Anderson start and sub in Tucker at the 4 depending on the rhythm of the game. You can counter a great offensive player with Tucker while Anderson scores against the bench. CP3/Harden/Ariza/Tucker/Capela is tough.
