Tucker shot 39% on open/wide-open 3PT attempts last season and 37% on catch and shoot attempts overall. That type of output combined with his versatility defensively will definitely help him live up to the value of this contract. Also love his competitiveness and how much of a DOG he is.
I must have missed the memo that the only thing that matters is someone's scoring average. You want to beat the Warriors, you need guys like Tucker, Iggy, Shumpert(the Rockets three targets today)
I wasn't really serious about Vince (except maybe as a 4th man off the bench vet). I just would rather get young wings.

Name a young 3 & D guy that was attainable for the Rockets at the MLE that is better than Tucker. I'll bet you can't.

If they can convince Toronto to take back some NGs and, say, a 2nd round pick in a sign-and-trade, maybe the Rockets can nab somebody like Patrick Peterson with their MLE.
If you want young wings, you're barking up the wrong tree. If you want to be a true contender, you need guys that have been around the block. Ones that have seen and done it all. Tucker has seen a lot of basketball. He's exactly the type of guy you try to get.
Why are people complaining? Tucker is basically a stronger, bigger version of Beverley. Warriors just gave a very similar player in Iggy (similar age, similar offensive/defensive capability) 3 year extension for 48 mil. That's 16 mil per year, twice as much we are paying for Tucker.
They still have options with their non-guaranteed's. Can use the MLE on Tucker and use the non-guaranteed's in a S&T elsewhere or vice versa. Still flexibility to add another solid rotational player.... and it could be a guard, wing, or forward. Really open possibilities here.

Also, PJ Tucker isn't afraid to get on somebody if they are screwing up. That only adds to the big mentality change this team needs.
There are some very dumb fans who only like names and not players. Don't appreciate the little things certain players bring.
