Chris HaynesCuenta verificada @ChrisBHaynes Golden State offered Andre Iguodala a 3-year, $45 million deal and he's deliberating, league sources tell ESPN. No options are attached.
what's there to deliberate? That's way too much money for Iggy. Surprised he hasn't accepted. Houston must have done a great sales job cause there's no way we are offering anywhere near that much.
Odd that he's even taking his time to consider this, this sounds great for him. I still don't understand... the most we can offer his is 12 mill per... DEPENDENT on the Warriors S&T him to us. If not all we can offer is 8.4 million. What possible incentive from Houston does he have to consider over GSW's offer? I don't believe it's between GSW and Hou, it's likely between GSW and Kings who are likely offering a 2/40 type deal
I'd still absolutely bank on Iggy going back to the Warriors, but the fact that he's taken this long to make a decision makes me think the Rockets still have an outside chance. Getting Iggy would be huge.
Yeah seems crazy to me that he is even hesitating. Must have been a hell of a wizardry act in that recruitment meeting. Was it like a university of Tennessee recruitment meeting where we got a lot of hot college chicks to do the butt butt?
What if it's not just a money situation? There's so many different variables that factor in to why people take the jobs that they take, and money isn't always the most significant. Maybe there are guys on the Rockets team he'd like to play with? Maybe he feels like he's accomplished all he can with the Warriors, and he'd like a change of scenery? Maybe the Rockets promised him a bigger role, and he wants to prove he's more than just a role player?
I honestly dont trust any of these warrior players after what draymon did to okc and durant. Pass on old man iggy
He's really close to all of the guys there and while people may say his role was reduced, his numbers are basically identical in terms of shots, minutes, etc.
True, but he's also a Team USA guy, so he's played with Harden and Paul in the past as well as being coached by D'Antoni, so there's a familiarity there. Also, it's possible the Rockets pitched him a starting job and 30+ minutes a night. He hasn't had that since 2014, and his minutes have dropped every year since that season. Again, I don't think Iggy to Houston is likely. I'm just trying to play devil's advocate here and keep whatever shred of hope I have for him alive while I still can. I've always liked the guy, and I'd love to see him on this team. I think he could be an integral piece of Houston's chances to seriously contend the next few years.
Relax. He will sign the Warriors deal by tomorrow. He just wanted some love and attention, especially from the Warriors. Oh and some extra money too.
Those are good arguments actually. Look if he's taking a pay cut or even better the mle then I'm all for the guy. He's a perfect fit even if he doesn't move the needle much. No question we could use a strong defensive wing to shoulder the burden with ariza.
