just to be clear, i am not in favor of trading for Shumpert. I don't like him. But he can play defense.

Yeah, that's what i'm thinking. Supposedly the Warriors are meeting with him tomorrow, so maybe that's when we'll see some action

I'm coming around on this. I'm not a fan of shumpert, but we can always deal him later, and if you were to tell me a month ago that we roll with the same squad but sub Bev and Lou for CP3 and Shumpert, I'd be over the moon. Now to sign Nene

My prediction is that Morey didn't expect Dolan to be such a b**** with trading Melo. I think Morey is doing whatever he can to avoid trading Gordon to the knicks

If I know Morey he wants that super team at all cost. CP3 came with the intent of forming a big 3 and Morey is trying to hold onto Gordon

Morey is thinking both long term and short. Trading Gordon for Melo is kind of counter productive. You need a lot to beat the Warriors, especially an elite bench player like Gordon.

Just wait. The Melo situation won't sort itself out for some time, the Knicks don't have a GM and won't decide on the Melo thing until they get one last I heard. Hopefully they'll decide to actually get a GM and you know...start running their team.

This is a reasonable perspective. However, I'm going to need more time to accept that in 12 hours we have gone from talking about Paul George, to Iggy to now Iman Shumpert. It's downright depressing.

Oh and we also swapped Montrezl Harrell for Zhou Qi (though I imagine Chinanu would get his minutes as currently constructed) and we haven't replaced Dekker in the depth chart.

If we are getting slump Ariza is gone I think in a Melo deal.

People are complaining a lot, but I think it's Moreys fault. He tells his goals to everyone. We of course should know here, but I would actually like him to be more quiet and execute than allow us to set our sites for the moon and to judge him every step of the way. While I like the transparency as a fan it can lead to a lot of disappointment of the exact goal is not reached, whether for the better or worse.

Or we're just filling the void created when we traded away Dekker. Somebody has to play those minutes.

We tried to get Shumpert at the deadline when we traded Brewer. I don't think it has anything to do with Ariza necessarily. We lost Decker and Brewer who both were getting minutes and haven't replaced them with anyone yet.
