Agreed - overall, they've managed the pen extremely well thus far. We'll lose games by running scrubs out there, but I'm 100% OK with that. My only point was about the idea that it's ok to overwork them now because they can get rest in September. I don't think it necessarily works that way. Once you burn out an arm, it's unclear whether they'll be fixable with some short-term rest or not.

Disagree here. As someone (and Hinch) noted earlier, our bullpen is getting used a ton these last few weeks. Along with that, we're competitive in virtually every game because our offense is so good. We agree that the top guys aren't being overused right now. Combine those things and that means the secondary guys are being used in competitive situations a lot right now.

Feliz has dissapointed recently, but he was thought of as more than just a "secondary guy" not just earlier this season, but last season as well.

During that time, Sipp and Gregerson have made a turnaround of sorts to become pseudo dependable again.

I agree that they've had to use the bullpen more than they'd like. But until they get their starters back, and until they make a move for more pitching, they're going to adhere to set schedules to avoid overworking anybody.

If they didn't have a huge lead, AND they had no chance of improving starting pitching, I'd be far more concerned as to how sustainable this is.

So Diaz isn't eligible to be recalled, how could we honestly make that mistake?

Guduan has to go down anyway, and we are a man short

Luhnow is a great GM, but my God how could he mess this up

It was answered.... Hinch spoke about the situation... He is more of an authority than any of us and he has concerns... it justifies mine... The arms are getting burned out... even if they aren't the key arms (at the moment)... you still don't want to do that because at some point you might need them.... you can't guarantee that at some point you won't need these seemingly more expendable players later on.

Oh ok, Hoyt is getting worn out

Actually he is, but not in the way you are saying

Paulino suspended 80 games just now, at least he will be rested for last game of regular season

Pull the trigger on something Luhnow

If Aoki or Marisnick had Beltrans numbers, you could bet their would be many crying for Fisher if he wasn't already here by now.
